We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of April 22nd.

It's been nearly two weeks since the launch of Destiny's April Update and already gamers are digging into the revamped content. Most are focusing their efforts on the new Challenge of the Elders mode, which rewards increased light level drops in return for hitting two score thresholds. This week has been a particularly easy week for Challenge of the Elders, so make sure to follow our Challenge of the Elders guide for easy rewards.

Starting on Tuesday, however, a new source of high light drops will enter the fray with the launch of Iron Banner. This is the first Iron Banner event since the launch of Destiny's new update, and it promises to be the most rewarding iteration yet. Apparently some logic problems were holding back certain drops from players, but Bungie claims that those have since been fixed. We sure hope so.

An additional source for new gear (albeit not of very high light) is Xur, Destiny's exotic armor and weapons vendor. Once again Xur has returned to the tower and this week he has brought with him some exciting items, for Hunters and Warlocks, that is. Read on to find out where Xur is and what exotic items he has in his inventory.

This week, Destiny players can find Xur next to the big door across from The Speaker. After spawning into The Tower head to the left, follow the pathway down the sets of stairs, and into the open area. Xur should be on the right hand side.

Destiny Xur Exotic Gear April 22

For armor this week, Xur has the Helm of Inmost Light for Titans, the Lucky Raspberry chest piece for Hunters, and the Purifier Robes for Warlocks. The latter two items will be of particular interest to their respective classes, as they are new exotics brought forward to Year 2 light levels with the April Update. Both have been solid choices, especially for PvP, although that might be less so for the Lucky Raspberry. Since nerfing Bladedancer a few patches back, Bungie has made it harder to rely on the subclass, especially its grenades.

That being said, this should be counted as a solid week for Xur on the armor front, especially for those players who are new in Year 2. For them, there are two pretty good exotic armor pieces on the table, both of which are worth the Strange Coins.

Once again Xur has an exotic weapon available; this week it's the Monte Carlo Auto Rifle. Since the April Update buffed the AR weapon class we would say that the Monte Carlo is worth checking out, but there are other solid options within the group.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • Helm of Inmost Light (Titan Helmet) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Lucky Raspberry (Hunter Chest Armor) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Purifier's Robes (Warlock Chest Piece) – 13 Strange Coins
  • Monte Carlo – 23 Strange Coins
  • Legacy Chest Piece Engram – 29 Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins

It appears that Xur's days of selling exotic engrams have come to a close with the April update, or Destiny players have just been unlucky when it comes to RNG. Most were holding out that they would be able to get some light level 335 items with the engrams, but so far they have been out of luck.
