Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations for May 18 - 21

We have the scoop for Destiny 2 players on where to find Xur, what exotic items he has for sale this week, and whether any are worth spending Legendary Shards.

It's Friday which means the mysterious Destiny 2 vendor Xur is back for players to spend their Legendary Shards on his selection of exotic merchandise. With a brand new expansion pack to pull exotics from, players should find a little more to like from him over the next few weeks as new gear can appear on his virtual store shelves more often.

With the Flashpoint milestone being set on the Hellas Basin of Mars, a DLC-only location, Xur can be found in his normal spot at the Tower. After loading in, head to the left side into the hangar. Xur can be found on a platform behind the Dead Orbit leader, Arach Jalaal. Players can find his icon and general location from the Tower minimap as well.

Xur’s exotic armor selection this week includes Claws of Ahamkara gauntlets for Warlocks, Gemini Jester leg armor for Hunters, and Crest of Alpha Lupi chest armor for Titans. For players looking for new gear, only the Warlock gauntlets were introduced with the Warmind expansion as Alpha Lupi is a vanilla item and the Gemini Jesters arrived last December alongside Curse of Osiris DLC for Destiny 2.

For Hunters, the purple Gemini Jesters enhance the dodge class ability. With the exotic perk Misdirection, performing a dodge near any enemies (AI or human) causes them to become disoriented while also disabling their radars temporarily.

Warlock players get the new content this week in the form of the Claws of Ahamkara. The exotic gauntlets offer plus 2 to recovery and feature the exotic perk The Whispers. Unfortunately, the perk isn't very exotic, offering wearers one additional melee charge.

Titan players should be well versed with the Crest of Alpha Lupi by this point. The regal-looking chest armor comes with the exotic perk Survival Well, which generates additional orbs when super abilities are used as well as a healing pulse when Barricade is activated. It's a solid choice, though there are likely better options at this point in time.

For his exotic weapon this week, Xur has the SUROS Regime, a once powerful and fan favorite assault rifle from the original Destiny that was just re-introduced as part of the season 3 update. In addition to higher than average handling and reload speed, this assault rifle also comes with the SUROS Legacy perk, adding bonus damage to the bottom half of each magazine as well as a chance to return health on a kill. In addition, players can opt to increase the rate of fire by shooting from the hip or add damage by aiming down the sights.

Naturally, Xur also has his selection of consumable items including the Fated Engram, Three of Coins, and the recently added Five of Swords. For players looking for an added challenge with the Nightfall, Five of Swords is an item that enables players to increase or decrease their handicap. The more modifiers that are enabled, the higher the score multiplier will be set, not only making the Nightfall more challenging but also increasing the chance for better rewards.
