As Bungie nears closer to the launch of the Destiny 2 beta in mid-July, the Destiny community is doing its best to keep busy in the mean time. Next week, Iron Banner will return for one of the last times in Destiny 1 and soon all weekly rituals will come to a close. But for now it’s business as usual in Destiny, and it’s the weekend which means Xur has arrived to deliver some more exotic goodies to players.

Location and Exotic Armor

This week, Destiny players can find Xur in The Reef, the social space added with the House of Wolves expansion. There's only one spot Xur can hide in The Reef - it's to the right after spawning in and behind a door that is typically closed.

Xur's exotic armor this week includes the Glasshouse helmet for Titans, the Young Ahamkara's Spine gauntlets for Hunters, and the Starfire Protocol chest piece for Warlocks.

Of the three pieces, we'd recommend the Titan helmet the most since it can give fireteams access to the Weapons of Light or Blessing of Light buff for longer when passing through a Ward of Dawn. This is particularly useful in situations when a team wants to do max damage and does not want to step in and out of the Ward of Dawn bubble.

The other two exotic items are decent, but not as useful for their respective classes. The Hunter gauntlets used to be popular, but Bungie has since nerfed tripmine grenades.

Xur's Exotic Weapon and Bundles

Hawkmoon is Xur's exotic weapon for the weekend, a hand cannon with some deadly perks. Once a PlayStation exclusive exotic, Hawkmoon has a set of perks that give the hand cannon two random bullets that do extra damage. In PvE, this isn't a terribly useful option, but in PvP it can be a huge boon. If a player lands two headshots and one of those shots is the Luck in the Chamber bullet, then they should kill their opponent.

Finally, Xur's exotic weapon bundles are the MIDA Multi-Tool scout rifle and its Black Ops ornament, and the Truth rocket launcher and its Heart of Gold ornament. Black Ops is actually a really slick look for MIDA Multi-Tool, but we always recommend to buy ornaments from the kiosk instead of Xur.
