It’s the first Xur appearance since the launch of Destiny 2’s Curse of Osiris DLC and with that comes a new loot table of exotics that Xur can sell. Eventually Xur’s inventory will also grow to include some new items, like a Fated Engram and the Three of Coins, but for now, he is only selling the usual three armor pieces and one weapon.

We say usual, but this week is anything but ordinary for Xur. Bungie is looking to make a statement to Destiny 2 players with the Agent of the Nine’s inventory this week and they accomplished that goal, and then some. More on that, in a bit.

Xur Location

This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur in the Winding Cove section of the European Dead Zone. Spawn into the landing zone and head directly forward until you reach a cliff face. From there, Xur will be directly above you.

Exotic Armor

Xur’s exotic armor this week includes the Dragon’s Shadow chest piece for Hunters, the Mk. 44 Stand Asides boots, and the Nezarec’s Sin helmet for Warlocks.

The Hunter chest piece is not particularly special but can be somewhat useful in PvP. Any time a player uses the class’s dodge ability, they will gain increased movement and weapon handling for a short time.

Nezarec’s Sin is a cool looking Destiny 2 exotic and is one of the better options for PvE players. Any time a Warlock gets a kill with void damage their abilities get a recharge boost.

Originally released in Destiny 1, the Mk. 44 Stand Asides have received a major rework for Destiny 2 and are now poised to be a top tier exotic armor choice for Titans in PvP. As long as a player has their shoulder charge ability (on any subclass) active they will gain an overshield, which allows Titans to close gaps between opponents without getting melted.

Xur's Exotic Weapon

Speaking of getting melted, Xur’s exotic weapon this week is the Prometheus Lens exotic trace rifle. Yes, this is the bugged exotic weapon that has been ruining Crucible matches for any that face it.

Yesterday, Bungie confirmed that a fix is coming for the Prometheus Lens bug that will take its damage way down, but the studio said Trials of the Nine was still going to happen this weekend. Now we know why. Rather than worry about some players getting an unfair advantage over others, Bungie figured it would just give everyone the advantage and see how the chips fall.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • Mk. 44 Stand Asides (Titan Boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Dragon's Shadow (Hunter Chest Piece) – 23 Legendary Shards
