It’s a major turning point for Xur in Destiny 2, with the Curse of Osiris DLC looming less than a week away. Soon Xur will appear at a different time when Bungie changes the Destiny 2 reset time and eventually the Agent of the Nine’s inventory will expand to include some new items like the Fated Engram.

For now, though, Xur still shows up in Destiny 2 in the middle of the night/early morning and he only has his usual spread of exotic armor and one exotic weapon. He also only has four destinations on which he can appear, but after Curse of Osiris that might grow to include Mercury.

This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur on Earth, in the Winding Cove section of the European Dead Zone. Fast travel to the Southern portion of the EDZ and then head forward until you reach a cliff face. From there look up and Xur will be above you.

destiny 2 xur exotic weapon armor dec 1

Xur’s exotic armor inventory this week includes the Lucky Raspberry chest piece for Hunters, the Synthoceps gauntlets for Titans, and the Skull of Dire Ahamkara helmet for Warlocks. All three are decent exotic armor options for their respective classes, especially for those players that prefer Crucible PvP.

The Lucky Raspberry is a solid choice for Hunters that like the Arcbolt Grenade, as it can increase the Arcbolt’s chaining capability. The chest piece also has a chance to fully restore the player’s grenade energy any time it does damage. So an Arcbolt thrown into a group of enemies is very likely to recharge itself instantly.

The Synthoceps gauntlets increase the class’ melee range, ostensibly removing the “T-Rex” arms that plague Titans. They also increase melee damage if the player is surrounded.

Skull of Dire Ahamkara is a returning exotic from Destiny 1, albeit with some tweaks. The helmet now makes it so Warlocks are more resilient when casting their Nova Bomb and any Nova Bomb kills will generate additional Super energy. It’s a good PvE helmet since players can wipe out large groups of enemies and be closer to their next Nova Bomb.

Destiny 2 Sweet Business

Xur’s exotic weapon this week is the Sweet Business auto rifle, a chain gun design weapon that fires tons of bullets. The longer the player holds down the trigger the faster the weapon fires and the range increases.
