Destiny: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapons, and Location for Aug 4-6

It isn't the first time it has happened, but Xur has shown up to Destiny with one of his exotic items missing from his selection, and don't expect Bungie to fix things.

August brings with it a lot of things for Destiny, but most importantly it starts the transition to Destiny 2. This week was the start of the last Iron Banner, and soon after the last Trials of Osiris. Even those hoping to get the most out of the Age of Triumph event have lost their chance, as the window to purchase the commemorative shirt has closed.

Needless to say, it’s a bittersweet time for Destiny players and anything being off would be piling on. For example, if Xur showed up for the weekend without his full selection in tow, then that would be a little unusual and disappointing.

Xur Location and Exotic Armor

This weekend, Destiny players can find Xur in The Reef, the social space added with the House of Wolves DLC expansion. There’s only one spot Xur can hide on the reef – it’s to the right after spawning in. Typically, the door to the right is closed, but it opens when Xur is around.

Xur’s exotic armor selection this weekend includes the Thagomizers gauntlets for Titans, the Radiant Dance Machines boots for Hunters, and the Sunbreakers gauntlets for Warlocks. Unless you’re a PvP player that mains a Titan relies heavily on melee then the exotic armor this week is not worth buying. All three armor pieces look cool visually, but they are on the low end when it comes to utility.

Where is Xur's Exotic Weapon?

This would now be the section where we tell you about the exotic weapon Xur has for sale and whether it’s worth buying, but unfortunately Xur decided to show up without a weapon this week. It’s not the first time that this has happened, but it is a very rare occurrence.

The last time that Xur didn’t have a weapon for sale, though, Bungie was unable to fix the issue and the weekend went buy without any change. Given that, it’s safe to say that Xur simply won’t have an exotic weapon to buy this weekend.

Although Xur doesn’t have an exotic weapon for sale by itself, he does have two available as part of his exotic weapon bundles. This weekend Xur has The Last Word hand cannon and its Sequel ornament for sale, as well as the Telesto fusion rifle and its Queen’s Commend ornament.
