This past week controversial streamer Destiny was banned by Twitch. The streamer has since confirmed that his ban is permanent and that Twitch will be indefinitely restricting his account due to multiple violations of its "Hateful Conduct" guidelines. As Twitch streamers are wont to do, a discourse surrounding Destiny's ban has been created to break down topics including why he was banned and what he should do next. MMO streamer Asmongold is the latest Twitch streamer to share his thoughts on the matter.

In a recent stream, Asmongold described the situation as Twitch doing Destiny a "favor." The heart of what Asmongold is saying is that he believes Twitch banning Destiny will allow Destiny to return to the style of content that made him successful in the first place. It will just be on another platform.

As for what kind of content Asmongold means, it's the exact kind of that likely led to Destiny being banned from Twitch. Asmongold says that Twitch kept Destiny from producing his more "controversial" and "edgy" content. That's the kind of content Asmongold believes Destiny really shines at. In Asmongold's view, while Destiny wasn't able to produce that kind of content on Twitch, he will be able to do that on YouTube.

Asmongold says that on YouTube Destiny will be able to create content with more integrity than he did on Twitch, content that's of overall higher quality. Asmongold even says that Destiny is a pioneer when it comes to political content on Twitch and helped change a number of people's perspectives, as well as the platform itself.

While Asmongold is highly complimentary of Destiny and clearly wants to see him succeed, he does have his criticism, too. He says that Destiny is an "a******" and admits Destiny "isn't the best person," but in turn says that at least Destiny has "sources" for his behavior.

Destiny isn't the first successful streamer on Twitch to be banned in such a way. Many past Twitch streamers have made the jump to YouTube after bans and grown even more successful. Of course, YouTube does have its own rules. Still, Destiny does have a second chance and that's what ultimately matters. There's life beyond Twitch.
