The Bungie Bounty events in Destiny 2, orcestrated by the developer, often pull in a lot of attention from players looking to unlock a limited reward earned from a combination of skillful gameplay and RNG. However, a recent bounty on streamer Leopard found a slight disruption on the part of the content creator in an effort to pull one over on the viewers attempting to join the right matches and earn special Destiny 2 emblems.

For those who might not be aware of these live events, the Bungie Bounty is a window of time where developer Bungie will pick out either members of the development team or popular content creators and either win while playing with or against them. This most notably takes place in Destiny 2's PVP mode, the Crucible, pitting the chosen bounty or bounties against anyone and everyone looking to snag a special reward.

So, when streamer Leopard was chosen to be the target of the Bungie Bounty on November 8th, the content creator decided to prepare for any viewers that might have wanted to join in during the stream. The trick itself came down to playing a pre-recorded video of waiting on the mode selection screen for the Crucible while already queing up for the first match of the bounty window. As a result, anyone trying to wait through the broadcast to jump into the correct Destiny 2 Crucible match weren't able to join in time to possibly earn the rewards.

The response from Leopard's fans weren't completely unexpected, with much of the chat commenting for the rest of the stream to see proof of the matchmaking happening in real time. However, even with the streamer pulling this troll on viewers, several followers were still able to join matches after this first one in order to earn the special emblem. So, not everyone's PVP adventures in Destiny 2 for the day were completely stiffled by the joke.

Given that the Bungie Bounty is meant to be a way to reach out between the community and content creators or the developer, this troll does seem to be well within the spirit of the event. Though it might have been upsetting for anyone looking to join in on that first match, the whole joke was certainly in good fun, and likely helped make for a much more interesting early part of the stream. Hopefully, Leopard will find a new way to mess with the bounty hunters in Destiny 2 if chosen for the event again.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
