Because Destiny 2 is such a huge game that features all sorts of different weapons, abilities, and gear, it is not uncommon for Bungie to have to deal with game-breaking glitches. There are plenty that became very iconic in the past, such as the infamous "laser tag weekend," back when Curse of Osiris launched and the Prometheus Lens was bugged to a point that it melted enemies and opposing Guardians alike. Of course, the absolute monarch of Destiny 2 glitches is Telesto, an Exotic fusion rifle that has been reworked and disabled too many times to count at this point.

Destiny 2's Season of the Lost is all about fusion rifles and linear fusion rifles, thanks to the substantial buffs they got as weapon archetypes and the Particle Deconstruction mod for insane DPS. However, it makes only sense that this Season was when Telesto caused the most issues in the history of Destiny 2, starting from the very first weeks of the new Season when it generated infinite Orbs of Power if combined with Thermoclastic Blooming. From that time it bugged out even more often, every time with a different game-breaking glitch.

Bungie had to disable Telesto a couple of weeks ago due to it applying its projectiles onto allies, making for an invincibility glitch where players who were affected couldn't be hit with weapon damage or Super projectiles until all bolts were destroyed. Yesterday, Bungie applied a tentative fix that consisted of making Telesto bolts no longer attach to allies, but instead detonate on impact, as well as reducing the lifetime of bolts from 10 to 5 seconds and making them immune to shots to prevent players from destroying them. However, a Twitter user by the name of Hive_Thrall shared a brief video showcasing yet another glitch happening with Telesto post-patch.

The clip shows that grenades and projectiles are bouncing off of Telesto bolts, making it impossible to aim abilities and gunshots correctly with Telesto bolts around. Furthermore, if Telesto bolts are sprayed on doors or small passages, they can completely block off some Supers for the entirety of the bolts' lifetime. This is shown in Destiny 2's The Cauldron map, which was featured last weekend in the Trials of Osiris, and it has plenty of doors to try the new glitch on.

Along with Trials of Osiris and the recent matchmaking changes, it's clear how much Bungie cares about this experience. As such, it's very likely that Telesto will be disabled once again before today's Trials begins to prevent further issues. Some form of official announcement is also likely to come later today.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
