With this week’s The Taken King expansion launch, Bungie has introduced a whole slew of new content into Destiny, including a handful of new quests for Guardians to complete. As players traverse the various maps in an effort to complete these quests, they may find it difficult to finish a few without a little support.

One task that can make Destiny players a little crazy is the search for Calcified Fragments on Oryx’s Dreadnaught ship. As many players are now aware, these Calcified Fragments are returned to Eris Morn at the Tower in exchange for Summoning Runes, which players use to trigger events to the Court of Oryx. However, according to lore, these fragments may also be used to craft the Touch of Malice, a raid-specific exotic weapon similar to the Vex Mythoclast and Necrochasm.

Fortunately for Destiny players, one Guardian has set out to find all 50 Calcified Fragments and share their locations on YouTube. The player, who goes by Fosse Boss, shared a video playlist on Reddit, showing players where to find each fragment in succession. Below is the first video of that playlist, and readers can click here for the full list of videos.

As the above video shows, most of the Calcified Fragments are fairly easy to spot once players know where to find them. In fact, most Guardians could probably find the first few by themselves pretty quickly. The challenge comes once the easy-to-see ones are picked up and players have to really begin hunting for them.

Those who follow Fosse Boss’s guides should be able to collect the set of fragments fairly quickly, as the videos are short and to the point. We’ll point out that at the time of writing, Fosse Boss hasn’t yet found all the fragments, but has definitely discovered enough to get players started with a healthy number. For those readers who find any not included in the videos, we invite you to share your findings in the comments below.

With The King’s Fall Raid launching today, it’ll be interesting to see if there are any other uses for the Calcified Fragments, or even the Summoning Runes, as players take on Oryx. It seems Bungie likes to make the most of the materials players acquire as they move through the game. Hopefully players will find that the 50 Calcified Fragments are more than enough to accomplish the many tasks they’re used for in Destiny.

Have you found all the Calcified Fragments on the Dreadnaught? Are you using them for Summoning Runes, or are you hoping to grab the Tool of Malice in The King’s Fall Raid? Let us know your plans in the comments below.
