Between GamesCom, the big Sandbox Update, and the highly anticipated Forsaken expansion launch next week, things are understandably very busy at Bungie. The latest Destiny 2 update brought with it a complete rework of many features and mechanics in the current game, with even more content arriving next week. Even with all of the new stuff for players, Bungie has begun teasing the return of a particular strike that proved to be pretty unpopular with players.

In a post on Twitter, Destiny 2 community manager dmg04 revealed that the studio was preparing to add the oft-maligned Exodus Crash strike back into strike playlist rotation in the coming weeks. The strike was removed from Heroic and Nightfall rotation due to uneven difficulty, a progress-halting glitch, and an end boss in Thaviks the Depraved that left players feeling more frustrated than fulfilled. Details on when the strike would be returning in full and what has actually changed wasn't made available, unfortunately.

After posting the news, some players commented that the modified version of the strike was already appearing within the legacy strikes playlist. While the redesigned strike isn't technically supposed to be live yet, dmg04 did confirm that he'd look into it and theorized that some of the changes may have gone live since the strike is still active within the legacy strikes playlist. Initial player thoughts seemed positive, however, as the boss fight with Thaviks seemed to be much more even, as the invisibility phase of the fight had been reduced to just one instance.

If the Exodus Crash strike changes did leak out a bit early, it's not the only thing that the big Sandbox Update let slip out this week. The Flashpoint milestone is set on Mars this week, with Ana Bray acting as the quest giver in place of Cayde-6. As some players finished the milestone for this week, they discovered new Forsaken gear and weapons with randomized rolls in place of the normal selection. Bungie did something similar with previous releases like the Trespasser exotic sidearm, though this time appears to actually be a bug and not a feature, as the studio confirmed in a Tweet that this wasn't intentional.
