Destiny's next big update, expected to come out next week, will make many changes to the game including a nerf to the much-debated Sunbreaker Titan subclass.

Bungie has already detailed some of the changes coming to Destiny in the December update, which is expected later this month, including a wide weapon rebalancing and the addition of new and refreshed exotic weapons. Today, Bungie has also announced that the Destiny December update will bring changes to the Titan's three subclasses, which includes a nerf to Sunbreakers.

Full details will come tomorrow, Friday December 4, but Bungie has previewed that every Titan subclass will experience changes in the December update:

Ever since their Solar brothers and sisters entered the explosive mix of Destiny with the arrival of The Taken King, they’ve been quite the hot topic of conversation. Even before the first fiery salvo landed in someone’s face, there has been plenty of feedback about our armored friends. While we’re making some adjustments to Sunbreakers in Update 2.1.0, we won’t be leaving Strikers and Defenders out in the cold this winter.

Those changes could come as soon as next week, as long as Bungie doesn't run into an major hiccups along the way. Patches normally drop on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Pacific, so if the pattern holds up, the update could go live December 8.

Sunbreaker vs Bladedancer

The Sunbreaker class has been a hot topic in the Destiny community ever since The Taken King expansion was released, with the majority feeling that the new class is severely overpowered in the game's competitive multiplayer. Games can be completely swung in the winning direction by a number of Sunbreaker Titans, and opposing players have designed entire builds just to counter the possibility of running across a Sunbreaker during a match.

Conversely, many Titan players argue that the Striker and Defender subclasses are woefully underpowered compared to the Warlock and Hunter subclasses. But it appears that Bungie has taken all of that feedback into account for the December update, as it's likely that Sunbreakers will get a nerf while the other two subclasses see a buff of some sort.

Bungie also let players know that the Tower vendor Tess Everis, the steward of the Eververse Trading Company, which is the microtransaction system in Destiny, will be getting a refreshed inventory with the December update as well. Bungie said, "She’ll put the stuff you see now in some bags you can still acquire with some Silver, but their contents will be less direct and predictable," so it appears that the current stock of emotes could drop in a random grab bag-type item. However, players who've been eyeing a particular emote probably want to pick it up before next week.

The December update should bring a big change to Destiny with these changes, in addition to the ones that have already been detailed, which also includes giving more uses to Etheric Light and Wormspore.

What do you think of the upcoming nerf to Sunbreakers? Do you think it will improve Destiny?
