After a glitch turns off all the lights in Wrath of the Machine's final boss fight, one team of Destiny players press on and defeat Aksis in the dark.

No, it's not a Halloween trick in honor of Festival of the Lost. A Destiny raid team came across a glitch in Destiny's newest Wrath of the Machine raid that turned off most of the lights in the final encounter room against Aksis. Did those players return to orbit and reset the raid?

Nope. They continued on with the raid and fought Aksis in relative darkness. You can see the start of the encounter here when the lights go out:

The video was posted by BestvsDaRest on the Destiny subreddit. Some fellow fans commented back saying that they too had encountered the glitch and were able to turn the lights back on only by going to orbit and then spawning into the raid.

So despite fans' greatest desires that an Aksis fight in the dark may be part of an upcoming Challenge Mode for Wrath of the Machine, this appears to be only a glitch.

The final takedown of Asksis can be seen here:

Speaking of Challenge Modes (these alternate raid boss challenges that task fans with discovering and taking down bosses in a specific way) remain under wraps with Bungie promising that it will appear in game at some point after the end of Festival of the Lost (which ends November 8). There's no telling how soon after that date Challenge Modes will go live. Bungie also keeps teasing that there's more unknowns to come before the end of the year.

Something that is not an unknown is the return of Sparrow Racing League in December, which will supposedly be a part of a bigger winter update or event that will include some things for players to do besides just racing their personal in-game vehicles.

For those still needing to conquer Aksis (whether that takes place in the light or in the dark) be sure to check out our guides for both Normal Mode and Heroic Mode, which ups the ante with a lot more to juggle.

Ahead of whenever Challenge Mode debuts it will be good to get up to speed on the Supercharge mechanic in the Aksis fight, which may come into play as it still remained a non-issue in Heroic Mode.

Currently, Festival of the Lost is running in Destiny, which is causing some debate among fans about microtransactions in Bungie's sci-fi shooter.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is available now on PS4 and Xbox One.
