Destiny Bringing Back Past Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner Weapons

Age of Triumph, the next (and last) live event coming to Destiny, is already bringing back the classic raid weapons, but that’s not all—it will also give players a chance to get their hands on weapons that have been out of the loot pool for some time. Specifically, new bounties can reward Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner weapons that were available in Destiny’s Year 2.

In the developer’s weekly blog update, Bungie expanded on the news from earlier this week that the weekly Crucible bounties from Lord Shaxx would get an update, saying that Shaxx’s bounties won’t be the only new ones. If players travel across the room from Shaxx to the Crucible Quartermaster, they will find new bounties that will let them access old gear:

The Crucible Quartermaster will now offer 5 new bounties each week for different weapon archetypes, allowing you an opportunity to earn a variety of Crucible, Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris weapons from Year 2 and Year 3.

Those Trials of Osiris weapons from Year 2 include the Doctrine of Passing auto rifle and the Inward Lamp scout rifle, two of the more popular options. While the Iron Banner weapons available  from Year 2 include the Finnala’s Peril hand cannon, Nirwen’s Mercy pulse rifle, Ironwreath-D sidearm, and Weyloran’s March sniper rifle.

It appears that those bounties will focus on different archetypes (i.e. pulse rifles, rocket launchers) that pull from a mixed loot pool of Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and standard Crucible weapons. Bungie said the hand cannon bounty in particular will have the chance to drop the Eyasluna, a top-tier hand cannon that many fans want.

The bounties in general have also been updated across the board to be inclusive and easier to complete, regardless of which mode or subclass a player favors. It also sounds like the bounties requiring a fireteam to complete have been either removed or modified. All the bounties will also be able to be completed daily, even when Trials of Osiris is active. Speaking of Trials of Osiris, gear and weapons from Year 3 have been added to the Silver and Gold tier Trials bounties.

In addition to these changes to bounties, Bungie confirmed that the Crucible will get a facelift with this live event, removing some Crucible playlists to improve matchmaking quality. All these changes will hit Destiny when Age of Triumph launches in game on March 28.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is available now on PS4 and Xbox One.
