With every major expansion in Destiny, Bungie has changed up the items that most vendors sold, giving players new armor, weapons, and cosmetics to purchase or chase after with the launch of new content. With Forsaken, Destiny 2’s first major expansion, Bungie is doing the same thing for many vendors, and today Bungie detailed which items players will need to get before Forsaken launches to round out their collections.

Many Destiny 2 vendors will be refreshing their stock when Forsaken launches this fall.  Destination armor sets and weapons, like the Gensym Knight armor sets from Io, will still be available in Year 2, however, there is no comment as to whether these sets would be getting armor perks like the rest of the sets in Forsaken.

Most other sources outside of planetary vendors will be receiving an update. Vanguard and Crucible weapons, armor, and seasonal rewards will all be gone come September. Gunsmith weapons, emblems, and mods will be changed as well. Mods as a whole are receiving an overhaul with Forsaken, so old mods will no longer be offered by Banshee.

Ikora will no longer be offering the meditation armor sets or year one emblems in Season 4, so fans may want to grind out their meditations, so get the game’s starting armor if they don’t want to work on the Moments of Triumph armor sets. Trials of the Nine and Iron Banner will both receive new armor, weapons, shaders, ships, sparrows, and ghost shells with Forsaken, so players will want to grind those events as much as possible before Forsaken launches. Cayde-6 stash emblems from year one will also not be available in Forsaken.

Here's a full breakdown of every weapon getting a refresh:

  • Vanguard
    • Year 1 weapons
    • Year 1 armor
    • Seasonal rewards
  • Crucible
    • Year 1 weapons
    • Year 1 armor
    • Seasonal rewards
  • Gunsmith
    • Year 1 weapons
    • Year 1 mods, which will no longer be obtainable
    • Year 1 emblems

    • Year 1 emblems

Bungie also confirmed that certain year one weapons will be making a return with Forsaken with random rolls. While no specific guns were named, an image of the Better Devils hand cannon was shown, so this fan-favorite gun may be making a comeback, so fans won’t have to infuse their old one up to the new light cap.

It’s nice that Bungie made the list of gear that won’t be dropping after Forsaken launches, so fans can focus on nabbing them before September rolls around. Hopefully, fans will be able to get most of this gear, so their collection will be complete when Forsaken launches.
