Destiny 2 players are now days away from the start of Season of Opulence on June 4. Earlier this week, players learned that Bungie is bringing plenty of new weapons and gear to collect as well as three new pinnacle weapons to grind away for.

In addition to detailing the new content inside of Season of Opulence such as the wave based PvE mode The Menagerie, Bungie has also begun teasing the next chapter for Destiny 2. One of the bigger questions that arose from the Bungie and Activision split was what the developer would do once the Annual Pass content ended. Starting on June 6, the studio will be answering that question through a new livestream to reveal the next chapter.

With a lot to look forward to in the next few weeks, the exotic merchant Xur has returned for the weekend in Destiny 2 with an all-new inventory of exotics for players to purchase. Here's where players can find Xur, get details on the latest Invitation of the Nine quest, and find out exotic items are on offer for the weekend of May 31, 2019.

Where is Xur?

Xur is back in the Tower Hangar this week right behind Dead Orbit. Fast travel to The Tower and immediately head left to head down to where Amanda Holliday works on her vehicles.

After entering the hangar, head left again past Arach Jalaal and the Dead Orbit crew and up a metal stair case. Xur is standing on a metal platform at the back of this room overlooking the mountain ranges below.

Invitation of the Nine Quest

It's a strange week all around for Xur. While the merchant has disappointing gear and a missing item, the weekly Invitation of the Nine quest remains stuck on last week's offering: The World. For players who missed it, The World takes them back to the European Dead Zone for this week's activity.

Here are the details:

  • The World - Collect 9 samples from Taken, Cabal, and Fallen. Complete the Lake of Shadows Strike.

Class Armor

This week may leave most players wanting as Xur not only is missing new Forsaken exotics, he's also not offering a weapon. Thankfully, players still have access to the Fated Engram which has a great chance to give the layer an exotic from the Forsaken expansion.

Here are all three gear pieces for this weekend:

Wings of Sacred Dawn - Warlock chest armor

Wings of Sacred Dawn is chest armor geared towards Dawnblade Warlocks. Tome of Dawn is its exotic perk, suspending Dawnblade players in midair when aiming weapons and extending the duration when hitting enemies with gunshots. Needless to say, it's a pretty underwhelming perk and one that also makes players highly visible if used in PvP activities like the Crucible.

This is an item that's been apart of Destiny 2 since the very beginning, so its safe to assume that the majority of players already have this. Not only that, the item itself can't compare to other Warlock exotics available, so this is an easy item to pass on.

Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Mobility
  • Unflinching Fusion Rifle Aim, Unflinching Bow Aim, Unflinching Kinetic Aim
  • Scout Rifle Reserves OR Special Ammo Finder

Fr0st-EE5 - Hunter boots

Also know as Frosties, these exotic boots are arguably the best item on sale this week with Xur. Rapid Cooldown increases the regeneration rate when the player sprints, while dodging also increases the player’s sprint speed. For missions that require lots of movement, these boots pair well with particular subclasses that rely on melee abilities such as the Gunslingers Way of a Thousand Cuts.

Being able to recharge the throwing knives by killing burning enemies as well as sprinting makes it so the Hunter has a nearly unlimited supply as long as they hit and kill the target. This is a good, but not great item.

Gear Rolls:

  • Mobility OR Resilience
  • Fusion Rifle Dexterity, Hand Cannon Dexterity, Outreach
  • Scout Rifle Scavenger OR Special Ammo Finder

Aeon Safe - Titan gauntlets

Finally, Titans have access to the Aeon Safe gauntlets, a gear piece that's part of the disappointing Aeon Cult set. It's a gear piece that works best when the player is in a group where others are wearing Aeon gear, though this isn't a likely scenario considering the disdain most have for these exotics. Its exotic perk is Aeon Energy which grants added grenade energy to Warlocks, barricade energy to Titans, and dodge energy to Hunters when the user throws a grenade. For teammates that don’t have Aeon gear, they’ll only receive a small energy boost.

Xur has featured this set often for each of the three classes but the recommendation remains the same: these exotic gauntlets are not worth anyone’s time or resources outside of those attempting to collect every exotic item. There are much better exotics available to Titans that deserve a spot over the Aeon Safe.

Fixed Gear Rolls:

  • Resilience OR Mobility
  • Fusion Rifle Loader, Hand Cannon Loader, Impact Induction
  • Sniper Rifle Scavenger OR Machine Gun Scavenger

Exotic Weapon

Oddly enough, Xur isn't offering a weapon this week. At this time, it's not known if this was intentional or another potential bug, which Xur is no stranger to.

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for May 31:

  • Wings of Sacred Dawn (Warlock chest armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Fr0st-EE5 (Hunter boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Aeon Safe (Titan gauntlets) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • The World - 9 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
