While many fans have been grinding away on completing Boons of Opulence for the Visage of Calus, as well as their Moments of Triumph, Bungie has even more plans for Destiny 2. Starting next week, the Solstice of Heroes event kicks off in full, bringing with it new challenges, loot, and upgradable armor.

The Solstice of Heroes event also features a number of firsts this year, including a new PvE mode that takes place in a new area called the European Aerial Zone. In this mode, a fireteam of three will race to beat as many minibosses as possible before the timer runs out and the final boss battle begins.

Additionally, this year's Solstice armor won't be left behind when Shadowkeep launches in September, as Bungie is adding the new Armor 2.0 system early. This means that fans will be able to customize their Solstice armor, as well as other legendary Year 2 sets, when Shadowkeep releases later this year.

Until these festivities begin, fans can track down the Destiny 2 exotic merchant Xur, as he's brought the usual new selection of gear and weapons to purchase. Here's where players can find Xur, and check out what exotic gear is in his inventory, for the weekend of July 26, 2019.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur can be found hanging out on Earth inside of the Winding Cove in the European Dead Zone.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor

The Forsaken exotic drought continues this week, though some of the items on sale may be worth checking out for their favorable perk rolls. As always, players can continue to turn to the Fated Engram for a chance to unlock an exotic from the Forsaken expansion.

Here are Xur's three gear pieces for this weekend:

Vesper of Radius - Warlock chest armor

Another Warlock chest armor this week, the Vesper of Radius is a subclass neutral exotic that enhances the Warlock's Rift ability. Planetary Torrent releases an arc shockwave when the rift is first cast and recharges it faster if the player is surrounded by enemies.

While this gear has recently been buffed, it's still difficult to recommend, especially when Warlocks have access to the more well rounded Lunafaction exotic boots. The damage from the rift is fine, but ultimately it's not worth using the exotic armor slot over some other Warlock gear.

Random Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Resilience
  • Unflinching Scout Rifle Aim, Unflinching Sniper Aim, Unflinching Power Aim
  • Auto Rifle Rifle Reserves OR Sidearm Reserves

Wormhusk Crown - Hunter helm

This exotic Hunter gear used to be an easy go-to option, especially since it was handed out to players who finished the Warmind expansion campaign. Burning Souls gives a small health and shield boost to players after they dodge.

Unfortunately, the perk was deemed too powerful by Bungie, and the developer proceeded to nerf the item to modify its ability to essentially save a Hunter from death simply by dodging. As such, it's a difficult item to recommend, even though the random gear rolls on it this week are pretty good.

Random Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Resilience
  • Heavy Lifting, Enhanced Ashes to Assets, Machine Gun Targeting
  • Sword Reserves OR Machine Gun Reserves
sentinel titan subclass shield

Armamentarium - Titan chest armor

Titan gear suited best for those who enjoy throwing grenades, the Armamentarium comes with the And Another Thing perk, which grants players with the ability to throw two grenades. It's certainly not the most exciting gear available for Titans, but having access to two grenades can be very useful.

Therefore, Armamentarium is a solid pick up this week, even if the perks on it are just okay. Bow users will also find a lot to love here, making this a potentially great piece to take into Gambit to grind for the Hush exotic.

Random Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Resilience
  • Unflinching Rifle Aim, Unflinching Large Arms, Enhanced Unflinching Bow Aim
  • Bow Reserves OR Hand Cannon Reserves

Exotic Weapon

Ever since the powerful Whisper of the Worm sniper rifle received a nerf, the D.A.R.C.I. has become a go-to for those who want to deal a ton of damage to a target. It's intrinsic perk, Personal Assistant, displays enemy health and other vital stats when targeted through the scope. Where the weapon really shines, though, is through its secondary perk, Target Acquired. When Personal Assistant is active, this weapon has better target acquisition and deals way more precision damage.

For those guardians who don't already have it, the D.A.R.C.I. is certainly worth the legendary shards this week. As a small bonus, this weapon can be used inside the Tribute Hall to test on the various dummy enemies that players can activate from the Visage of Calus tributes. The Personal Assistant perk relays all sorts of valuable information

Additional perks for this weapon are:

  • Extended Barrel
  • Extended Mag
  • Short Action Stock

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for July 26:

  • Vesper of Radius (Warlock chest armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Wormhusk Crown (Hunter helm) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Armamentarium (Titan chest armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • D.A.R.C.I. (Sniper Rifle) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
