Season 6 of Destiny 2, The Season of the Drifter, will kick off on March 5 and run through May 2019, featuring a variety of free and paid content. As part of the March 5 update, everyone's favorite vendor Xur will start selling Exotics that were first added to the game as part of the Forsaken expansion last year.

This was confirmed by the Destiny 2 community manager on Reddit, who explained that while Xur will start selling Forsaken Exotics next week, it doesn't mean he will always have them for sale. Since Xur's stock rotates each week, there will be times when Destiny 2 players simply don't have the opportunity to purchase a Forsaken Exotic from him. Furthermore, players won't be able to get Forsaken Exotics through Fated Engrams.

For the uninitiated, Fated Engrams are purchased through Xur and guarantee players an Exotic that they have yet to add to their collection. If Forsaken Exotics were added to Fated Engrams, it would make completing one's Exotics collection a bit easier, but for now, players will have to buy them from Xur directly when they're available. Those disappointed by this should note that Bungie is looking at adding Forsaken Exotics to Fated Engrams as part of a future update for Destiny 2.

While some fans are already expressing worry that Xur will fail to provide many Forsaken Exotics, others are happy that this will give them an opportunity to collect some of the game's rarer Exotics. For example, those who missed out on the Festival of the Lost quest to get the Thunderlord Exotic may now have a better chance at getting the weapon instead of relying entirely on random drops.

In the meantime, it's worth pointing out that this update to Xur will only apply to people who have actually purchased the Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2. People who only have the base game or the previous expansions will simply be unable to purchase the Forsaken Exotics from Xur.

Regardless, Xur having more items to sell is a good thing, and should make his stock rotation more interesting for Destiny 2 fans. Plus, fans can still look forward to the possibility of Forsaken Exotics being added to Fated Engrams at some point in the future as well.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
