Just a few days left in Destiny 2's spring event known as The Revelry. While fans are beginning to wonder what's next, Bungie details a pretty big update that's coming to the game once The Revelry is over. For most, the biggest change in this update will be in regards to balancing and Spectral Blades. The Hunter void super is being brought more in line with everyone else through a number of nerfs to its overall damage reduction, duration, and melee attack cost.

This super change along with an end to the Reveler's Tonic grenade spam should pacify PvP players upset with how things have gone the past three weeks.

For now, Xur has returned to Destiny 2 with an all new inventory of exotic gear for players to check out over the next few days. Here's where Destiny 2 players can find Xur, details on the latest Invitation of the Nine quest, as well as what exotic items are on offer for the weekend of May 3, 2019.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur is stationed on Io.

To find him, fast travel to the Giant's Scar location and immediately head through the building into the area with the large drill in the center. Head left through the gate and follow the edges of the zone to the top left corner of the map where Xur is hiding in a cave..

Invitation of the Nine Quest Week 8

While it's technically week 8, Bungie is offering the week 7 quest called The Tower once again. While the quest is currently still bugged, Bungie is introducing a fix for the problem as part of Tuesday's update. Here are the details for The Tower once again:

  • The Tower - Collect 9 samples from defeated Hive, Scorn, and Vex on the Tangled Shore. Complete strike "The Hollowed Lair."

Class Armor

The good news this week is that Xur once again has Forsaken exotics on sale, though not for every subclass. Keep in mind that new exotics can be found in the weekly Fated Engram, which now has a chance to grant an exotic from the Forsaken expansion, making it well worth the Legendary Shard gamble each weekend.

Here are all three gear pieces for this weekend:

Contraverse Hold - Warlock gauntlets

A Forsaken exotic, the Contraverse Hold is specifically geared towards the Voidwalker Warlock subclass. Chaotic Exchanger is the intrinsic perk and enables the player to resist incoming damage while charging their Void grenade with Chaos Accelerant, Feed the Void, or Handheld Supernova. In addition, charged Void grenades return a random amount of grenade energy on a hit.

As of right now, the debate is out on this exotic, which used to be quite popular but has since taken a hit due to the recent Nova Warp nerf. Aggressive, grenade throwing players may find this exotic useful in the Crucible, though many Warlocks have instead turned towards the Skull of Dire Ahamkara as it caters more towards Nova Bomb users.

Gear Rolls:

  • Resilience OR Mobility
  • Fusion Rifle Loader, Hand Cannon Loader, Impact Induction
  • Sniper Rifle Scavenger OR Machine Gun Scavenger

Gemini Jester - Hunter leg armor

The Gemini Jester features the intrinsic perk Misdirection, where using dodge causes nearby enemies to become disoriented and temporarily removes their radar.

This subclass neutral exotic offers a powerful bonus, especially those who enjoy facing off against other players in the Crucible. The range on its effect is further back than one would expect and it can even strike people who are on the other side of a wall. Keep in mind, that this ability also triggers the Titan’s One-Eyed Mask perk Vengeance. It’s also not going to provide much of a bonus to PvE activities, so whether it’s worth it to pick these up is largely dependent on the player’s playstyle.

Gear Rolls:

  • Resilience OR Mobility
  • Fusion Rifle Dexterity, Hand Cannon Dexterity, Outreach
  • Scout Rifle Scavenger OR Special Ammo Finder

Antaeus Wards - Titan leg armor

Titans get the other Forsaken exotic this week. These boots are all about mobility that pairs with an interesting, albeit somewhat tricky mechanic. The intrinsic perk Reflective Vents improves the player’s slide while also reflects incoming projectiles during the slide. As a side bonus, when a projectile is reflected, the player gains super energy.

The ability may require a slight adjustment period to get the timing down, but once the mechanic is figured out, these boots become extremely valuable. Not only can players reflect bullets, but they are also capable of reflecting supers like Blade Barrage and Nova Bomb. As a side bonus, these boots can be worn with any Titan subclass which makes them extremely versatile as well.

Fixed Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Mobility
  • Fusion Rifle Dexterity, Hand Cannon Dexterity, Outreach
  • Scout Rifle Scavenger OR Special Ammo Finder

Exotic Weapon

Destiny 2 Huckleberry

The Huckleberry is the exotic SMG on sale this weekend. It’s a primary slot weapon that is capable of dealing large amounts of damage very quickly thanks to its intrinsic perk Ride the Bull. While the trigger is held down, the weapon gains an increased rate of fire and recoil. In addition, any kills with the weapon will reload a portion of the magazine as well. The weapon also comes with rampage, which gives it increased damage (holding up to 3 stacks) after a kill, and Ricochet Rounds which causes bullets to bounce and redirect off hard surfaces.

This is a weapon that's great at clearing out groups of enemies at closer range. Due to its chaotic nature, it may not be suited to the Crucible, which typically favors precision, but it becomes even better in PvE activities when the catalyst is applied. Thankfully, it's fairly easy to get, requiring players play through heroic adventures.

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for May 3:

  • Contraverse Hold (Warlock gauntlets) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Gemini Jester (Hunter leg armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Antaeus Wards (Titan leg armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • The Huckleberry (SMG) – 29 Legendary Shards
  • The Tower - 9 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
