The Destiny franchise's exotic merchant Xur has thankfully been given a nice buff following the new Season of the Drifter, not only expanding his inventory to include some Forsaken exotics on occasion, but also thanks in large part to a new weekly questline called Invitations of the Nine. Thanks to these changes, Xur has started to become relevant again, with many players even looking forward to his arrival each week.

While Xur's employers, The Nine, have never really been outlined or revealed, these new quests offer more backstory and insight into the mysterious group. Each week in Destiny 2, players who pick up the latest Invitations of the Nine quest will be tasked with completing multiple objectives, typically fighting a certain group of enemies and then finishing a particular strike. In exchange, players get new lore as well as some loot for their trouble.

With Friday back once again, here's where Destiny 2 players can find Xur as well as what the merchant has on offer for the weekend of March 29, 2019.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur is back inside the Tower Hanger.

From the director, select the main fast travel location at The Tower, not the newly added location closer to Ada and The Drifter. Once loaded in, immediately head to the left side down into the Hanger. After reaching the area, take another left and run past the Dead Orbit section to find Xur standing on a platform at the back overlooking the mountain range.

Invitation of the Nine Quest Week 3

Added as part of the Joker's Wild annual pass update, week 3 for the Invitation of the Nine will be taking players to Nessus. Here are the details:

  • The High Priestess - Collect 9 samples from defeated Vex, Fallen, and Cabal on Nessus. Complete strike "The Inverted Spire."

Class Armor

As for available class gear this week, Xur has reverted back to his old self and is only offering year 1 exotics for all three classes. Here are all three gear pieces for this weekend:

Sunbracers - Warlock gauntlet

Making another appearance after they arrived last month, Warlocks can pick up the Sunbracer gauntlets. Best utilized by Dawnblades, this exotic gear increases the duration of all solar grenades, while also granting unlimited solar grenade energy for a brief time after a solar melee kill is performed. The grenade cooldown time is cut way down following a solar melee kill, allowing the player to toss out nearly unlimited amounts of grenades until the effect wears off.

With the focus on grenades, this gear is great for clearing adds in modes like Reckoning, Gambit, Blind Well, and Escalation Protocol. Overall, this is an item worth picking up for Dawnblade fans.

Gear Rolls:

  • Mobility OR Resilience
  • Fusion Rifle Loader, Hand Cannon Loader, Impact Induction
  • Sniper Rifle Scavenger OR Machine Gun Scavenger

Foetracer - Hunter helm

This week, Hunters can pick up Foetracer, an exotic helm that can highlight enemies. While not quite the Knucklehead Radar, Foetracer comes with the intrinsic perk known as Relentless Tracker. This visually marks targeted enemies and then deals more damage to low-health marked enemies.

Foetracer is best utilized in PvP modes like the Crucible, where its perks can shine brightest. Overall, this helm is a solid exotic, but not likely one that's considered essential to own especially when put up next to some of the other Hunter exotics.

Gear Rolls:

  • Resilience OR Recovery
  • Fusion Rifle Targeting, Hand Cannon Targeting, Hands On
  • Sniper Rifle Reserves OR Machine Gun Reserves

Helm of Saint-14 - Titan helm

It's been a while since players have been offered this exotic helm. The ancient Greece looking helmet is geared more towards Defender titans, acting as a great support tool for fireteams. Its intrinsic perk called Starless Night blinds enemies that enter Ward of Dawn, while giving allies an overshield when they pass through it. In addition, guarding with Sentinel Shield blinds nearby enemies as well.

It’s another solid choice, especially for the more challenging aspects of the game and even modes like Gambit and Reckoning. For those who don't yet have it, it's a great option this week for Sentinel Titans.

Fixed Gear Rolls:

  • Resilience OR Recovery
  • Fusion Rifle Targeting, Hand Cannon Targeting, Hands On
  • Sniper Rifle Reserves OR Machine Gun Reserves

Exotic Weapon

destiny 2 sunshot exotic weapon

A little over a month later, the exotic hand cannon Sunshot has returned. Sunburn, the intrinsic perk, causes the weapon to fire explosive rounds and causes enemies to become highlighted after taking damage. Its other unique perk, known as Sun Blast, causes targets to explode after being killed, not requiring a headshot like the similar perk, Dragonfly.

Not much has changed since the last time it was offered, as it's still not going to be a mainstay weapon when compared to some of the other stronger hand cannon options like Ace of Spades. It's still in need of a buff to ammo and reload speed, so this isn’t a must-have weapon this week.

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for March 29:

  • Sunbracers (Warlock gauntlet) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Foetracer (Hunter helm) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Helm of Saint-14 (Titan helm) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Sunshot (Hand Cannon) – 29 Legendary Shards
  • The High Priestess Quest Item - 9 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
