Friday is Xur day in Destiny 2, the start of the merchant's weekend visit where players can purchase four exotic items after finding him in a random location. Unfortunately, the items he typically has in stock have been available for quite a while, leading to plenty of disappointment even with new randomized perk rolls.

Hope may be on the way, however, as season 6 has recently been confirmed to begin on March 5. While Bungie hasn't detailed what's coming during the Season of the Drifter or its annual pass content, players are hoping that at least a few Forsaken exotics start appearing on occasion in Xur's inventory. At the very least, the promise of something called Xur Bounties has left the community intrigued.

For now, here's where guardians can find the merchant as well as what's in his inventory for the weekend of February 15, 2019:

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur can be found back in the European Dead Zone on his cliff in the Winding Cove.

Select Earth from the Director menu and fast travel down to the Winding Cove. After loading in, start running towards the other end of the zone on the upper levels where the Fallen patrol. Xur is located on a small cliff right next to a Fallen ship.

Class Armor

For better or for worse, all four items in Xur's inventory this week are from the base version of Destiny 2, further increasing the odds that players already have what's in stock this weekend.

Skull of Dire Ahamkara - Warlock helmet

This helm synergizes very well with Voidwalker Warlocks, especially those that favor using Nova Bomb. The helm's signature perk, Actual Grandeur, provides additional damage resistance during Nova Bomb as well as additional super energy for Nova Bomb kills. It works in similar ways to other super killing regeneration items such as the Hunter's Shards of Galanor.

Because of that, this is an easy item to recommend for those who don't have it and would like to potentially chain Nova Bomb kills. In addition, Hands-On grants even more super energy for melee kills, so this helm provides multiple ways to earn super energy very quickly.

Gear Rolls:

  • Mobility OR Recovery
  • Fusion Rifle Targeting, Hand Cannon Targeting, Hands-On
  • Sniper Rifle Reserves OR Machine Gun Reserves

Lucky Raspberry - Hunter chest armor

On the other end of the useful spectrum is the Lucky Raspberry. While the item did get a small buff over the summer last year, it's still a very specific exotic that won't benefit most Hunter players. In fact, this item should only be used by those willing to use arc-bolt grenades. Through the Probability Matrix perk, Arc Bolt grenades have increased chaining capabilities and also have a chance to recharge each time it deals damage. A full chain always recharges.

Naturally, this exotic offers zero value for players not using arc bolt grenades. It's an easy recommendation for those that enjoy those grenades, but ultimately, there are better options available.

Gear Rolls:

  • Resilience OR Recovery
  • Unflinching Bow Aim, Unflinching Fusion Rifle Aim, Unflinching Kinetic Aim
  • Scout Rifle Reserves OR Special Ammo Finder

Actium War Rig - Titan chest armor

Last up is the Actium War Rig for Titan players. While not subclass specific, this exotic is actually weapon specific. When paired with an auto rifle, the Actium War Rig turns the player into a shredder. Auto-Loading Link steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle’s magazine from reserves.

While hand cannons and pulse rifles continue to lead the way in terms of usage, players have a wide variety of auto rifles to pick from in order to pair with this exotic. Sweet Business has always been linked to this exotic gear, but other popular rifles like Hazard of the Cast, Tigerspite, Vakaladyn, Breakneck, and Ringing Nail also gain an increase in value. Fans of auto rifles should definitely grab this exotic, while everyone else can feel free to pass.

Fixed Gear Rolls:

  • Resilience OR Recovery
  • Unflinching Bow Aim, Unflinching Fusion Rifle Aim, Unflinching Kinetic Aim
  • Scout Rifle Reserves OR Special Ammo Finder

Exotic Weapon

The unique looking hand cannon, Sunshot, is this week's exotic weapon. As the name implies, this weapon utilizes burns and solar damage against opponents. Sunburn, the intrinsic perk, causes the weapon to fire explosive rounds and causes enemies to become highlighted after taking damage. Its other unique perk, known as Sun Blast, causes targets to explode after being killed, not requiring a headshot like the similar perk, Dragonfly.

While this is a fun weapon to use, it's unfortunately fallen on hard times thanks in large part to the other fantastic hand cannons and exotic energy weapons that have since been added post-Forsaken. The gun could certainly use a few tweaks, especially when it comes to ammo and reload speed, so this isn't a must-have weapon this week.

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock for Feb 15:
