With the US Holiday Thanksgiving in full swing this week, there's less Destiny 2 news than usual. However, fans were still given a small update from Bungie prior to the holiday break getting players ready for the return of the exotic rocket launcher Gjallarhorn. It's expected in the next week that Bungie will finally pull the lid off of the Anniversary update, showcasing not only the new content, but the upcoming dungeons as well.

In the meantime, players continue to debate the upcoming ability and subclass changes inside of the December update. Many appear to be upset for different reasons, most of which centers on the Hunters. While non-Hunter players are happy with the Shatterdive changes, many are a little upset that the Flux Grenade from the Arcstrider loadout can one-shot players if the grenade is stuck. With the removal of Shoulder Charge and Handheld Supernova one-shot kills, there are plenty who find this change a bit upsetting.

One individual who never takes a holiday is the weekend exotic gear merchant known as Xur who has once again made his return to Destiny 2 with a new set of Legendary and Exotic gear for purchase. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cypher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic gear he's brought for the weekend of November 26, 2021.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Destiny 2 players can find Xur hanging out in his favorite tree on Nessus.

From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher's Grave. Once loaded in, run forward until the zone opens up. Continue to the back of the zone where a massive tree can be seen. Climb up and Xur will be standing on a large branch.

Class Armor and Exotic Cypher

In Season of the Lost, Xur's role has expanded as the exotic merchant has weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

With Season 15, Xur is now selling even more gear outside of his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer. Better yet, the stat rolls are pretty solid on the Black Armor gear for this week.

Exotic Armor

Lunafaction Boots - Warlock leg armor

Back again after appearing last month are the Lunafaction Boots. At one point in time, Lunafaction Boots were the must have exotic for Warlocks thanks to how helpful there were with overcoming challenging content. With the arrival of the Shadowkeep expansion, the boots recieved a heavy nerf and have since been replaced as the best of the best.

However, they're still viable in certain spots thanks to its exotic perk, Alchemical Etchings, which provides a substantial impact to both rifts. All rifts now gain the added ability to increase weapon reload speeds while Empowering Rift makes weapons more effective over longer ranges. Unfortunately, the roll is worse than it was back in October, coming in at a lowly 60.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +7
  • Resilience +3
  • Recovery +23
  • Discipline +2
  • Intellect +16
  • Strength +9

Sealed Ahamkara's Grasps - Hunter gauntlet

Originally on sale back in January, the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps remain an underrated exotic especially when paired with a certain subclass like the Gunslinger Way of a Thousand Cuts. Nightmare Fuel reloads the player's currently equipped weapon after melee damage.

By using Way of a Thousand Cuts, Hunters can ensure that they always have ammo ready. Throwing the burning knives causes significant melee damage and each burn tick of damage will reload the equipped gun. Killing the burning enemy procs the Playing with Fire perk, which essentially recharges the melee attack giving the player a nearly unlimited supply of reloads as long as they hit and kill the target. The stat values aren't bad this week, though players who want high mobility for their build will likely be disappointed.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +3
  • Resilience +11
  • Recovery +19
  • Discipline +16
  • Intellect +6
  • Strength +9

Stronghold - Titan gauntlets

Sword users rejoice as the Stronghold exotic gauntlets are back this week. Its intrinsic perk is called Clenched Fist which relates directly to swords. When guarding, the player's move speed is increased and ammo isn't drained. In addition, any shots that are blocked heals the player immediately after guarding.

Stronghold maximizes sword defense stats and doesn't lose any guard energy while subsequently healing the wielder when blocking shots. Sword users should definitely take a look at these exotics. The stat roll this week is the highest of the group and even features Resilience and Intelligence at absurdly high values. Unfortunately, to get to those numbers, Recovery, Discipline, and Strength all took major hits making this item

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +6
  • Resilience +27
  • Recovery +2
  • Discipline +2
  • Intellect +26
  • Strength +2

Exotic Weapon

Thye Merciless fusion rifle is available one again this week. For those who missed it, it is a heavy weapon that has high damage output, especially against a single target. It's a solid choice regardless of the mode, though Nightfalls and strikes make it a powerful choice. It also helps that Season of the Lost is very fusion rifle friendly, so running this weapon may be more of a viable choice thanks to the Particle Deconstruction mod.

Destiny 2 Merciless

Conserve Momentum continually charges the weapon faster when players get non-lethal hits, with the cycle resetting once the final kill is achieved. Pair that with its other perk, Impetus, players gain increased damage for a short time after quickly reloading following a kill.

Additional perks:

  • Chambered Compensator
  • Extended Mag
  • Fitted Stock
