Another week in Destiny 2 brought new revelations for the popular live service title. While the news wasn't quite as huge as fans have seen in in the previous couple of weeks, Bungie addressed some of the strange behaviors that have been occurring in Destiny 2 lately including the 12-man Raids. While this "feature" was never intended to be part of the game, Bungie is taking its time issuing a fix after seeing how much fun people are having. While a fix is ready, Bungie won't be issuing it until March 16 giving people time to experience it for themselves.

In addition to explaining the reasoning for why there seems to be more teleporting enemies than usual, Bungie also gave fans some insight into future content. Admitting that it had already started working on content for the Halloween inspired Festival of the Lost, Bungie showed off concept art for special Monsters and Dinosaur inspired armor. Better yet, fans can decide which armor set will be available for this year's event.

In the meantime, the exotic merchant Xur has finally made his scheduled stop into Destiny 2 for the next couple of days. Follow this guide for his location, news on his exotic cypher quest, as well as a review of what he's currently selling for the weekend of March 5, 2021.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can track down Xur on Earth inside the Winding Cove of the European Dead Zone.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cypher

While Xur's role is essentially the same as it was prior to the Beyond Light expansion, the exotic merchant also has weekly quests that players can acquire to unlock an exotic cypher. Not only are these required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the new kiosk. Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

Other than that, here are Xur's three gear pieces this weekend:

Phoenix Protocol - Warlock chest armor

Last seen over the summer of 2020, the Phoenix Protocol is back on sale this weekend for Warlocks. Battle-Hearth gives Dawnblade Warlocks a return on super energy for any kills or assists they make while standing inside of the Well of Radiance.

This weekend, the stat line features high mobility and Discipline, which isn't ideal for Warlocks. Considering that it's no longer a top tier item these days, players can safely avoid it this week.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +16
  • Resilience +9
  • Recovery +7
  • Discipline +16
  • Intellect +11
  • Strength +2

Foetracer - Hunter helmet

Foetracer visually highlights enemies thanks to its intrinsic perk known as Relentless Tracker. This visually marks targeted enemies and then deals more damage to low-health marked enemies.

Obviously, this is a PvP focused item where its perks can shine brightest. Players have also found success with it in Gambit, where it is able to highlight invaders. Overall, this helm is a solid exotic, but not likely one that's considered essential to own especially when put up next to some of the other must have Hunter exotics like Mask of Bakris. Still, the roll this week is pretty good, so Hunters may want to check it out.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +11
  • Resilience +6
  • Recovery +16
  • Discipline 12
  • Intellect +10
  • Strength +8

Mk 44 Stand Asides - Titan leg armor

Originally introduced inside of Curse of Osiris, the Mk. 44 Stand Asides are for Titans who like to run. Seriously, Watch Out is the armor perk on this exotic gear and with it, players get an overshield while sprinting with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped. In addition, hits with these abilities recharge a portion of the player's melee energy.

The value of these boots are based entirely on play style. They're certainly not the best option out there, but could certainly be useful under the right circumstances. As such, they're difficult to recommend for normal play.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +11
  • Resilience +10
  • Recovery +10
  • Discipline +12
  • Intellect +10
  • Strength +9

Exotic Weapon

The famed fusion rifle Telesto is back in stock. This weapon has had a very interesting history with the game, responsible for breaking many parts of the game in the favor of players. This includes, but isn't limited to helping players cheese the Blind Well event, proc certain buffs and benefits for other players, giving free special ammo in large quantities, and much more. Because of these glitches, the gun has become very player friendly and likely a massive headache for Bungie.

The weapon's intrinsic perk is called Unplanned Reprieve which causes fusion projectiles to attach and detonate with a delayed void blast. It's also paired with the Harbinger's Pulse perk which instantly reloads equipped primary and energy weapons after multi-kills with the Telesto. Naturally, it's a great PvE weapon as its sticky explosives cover a wide area and can clear adds very fast. It's a solid PvP weapon as well, though it really shines once the Masterwork catalyst has been applied to increase the ammo reserves.

Additional perks:

  • Projection Fuse
  • Polymer Grip

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for March 5, 2021:
