In the world of Destiny 2, things are changing. Earlier this week, Bungie finally answered the nagging question of what's next for the franchise by not only revealing Fall's expansion, but two additional expansions beyond that. Needless to say, Destiny 2 will be sticking around for the long haul as Bungie works to evolve the game into more of a platform similar to a true MMORPG such as World of Warcraft. Instead of new sequels every few years, Bungie's popular FPS will continue to evolve and expand.

However, in order to pull this off successfully, Bungie also announced the Destiny Content Vault. This feature will be were legacy content is retired from the main game as new content is added in. However, content going into the vault doesn't mean it's being permanently removed as Bungie confirmed things could returned in a refreshed and retweaked sort of way. Next Fall, the Cosmodrome patrol zone from the original Destiny makes its grand return along with the Vault of Glass raid.

While there are big changes on the horizon, one thing that next changes is the return of the Destiny 2 exotic merchant Xur. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he's currently selling for the weekend of June 12, 2020.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players should take a trip to Nessus and board the floating Golden Barge of Calus.

From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher's Grave. Once loaded in, run forward until the zone opens up. The Golden Barge is floating nearby with Xur hanging out towards the back of the ship near the treasure chests.

Class Armor

What's exciting about this weekend with Xur is that the merchant is no longer selling collection rolled gear, essentially, items that could be pulled from a player's collection. The armor he now has features randomized stats and perks, which should revitalize player interest in what Xur has each week.

In addition, players can use an Exotic Cypher to purchase a second fated engram from the merchant.

Here are Xur's three gear pieces this weekend:

Promethium Spur - Warlock leg armor

A recent Destiny 2 addition inside the Season of Dawn, these are boots specifically designed for Daybreak users. These boots come with the Intrinsic perk called Embers of Light. While Daybreak is active, any enemies or Guardians defeated will create a Healing and Empowering Rift at their location.

While useful, these exotics just don't compare to other Dawnblade exotics. It's fun to play around with but to maximize Dawnblade builds, players will likely want to go with things like Pheonix Protocol or Sunbracers. Still, this stats roll isn't bad so they may be still worth picking up.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +9
  • Resilience +10
  • Recovery +12
  • Discipline +9
  • Intellect +14
  • Strength +6

Raiden Flux - Hunter chest armor

This exotic chest piece comes with the perk Synapse Junctions which buffs Arcstrider staff damage and duration when chaining moves together. To really maximize the return this exotic provides, its recommended that Hunters perform the light hit, light hit, heavy hit combo attack.

This is arguable the best exotic gear for Arcstrider Hunters and is absolutely recommended for players who like to run this subclass. The damage increase is substantial against all types of enemies and the added duration is extremely helpful.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +9
  • Resilience +13
  • Recovery +12
  • Discipline +7
  • Intellect +6
  • Strength +15

Synthoceps - Titan gauntlets

The rarely seen Synthoceps gauntlets are there for Titans who like to punch things, which really should be everyone. Biotic Enhancements, the item's intrinsic perk, not only buffs the melee range, but when the player is surrounded by enemies, it also buffs damage. Similar to the Hunter's exotic gauntlets Liar's Handshake, this item can make Titan players very powerful.

While these are a popular Titan exotic, buying this specific item is entirely up to the user and whether or not the stats on this is better than what they may already have. Since this is equivalent to a collection roll, players may already have a stronger version. For those who don't, pick it up this weekend.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +2
  • Resilience +11
  • Recovery +20
  • Discipline +14
  • Intellect +13
  • Strength +2

Exotic Weapon

With all of the recent and sweeping overhaul of Sword Class weapons, this week's exotic item is none other than the Black Talon. Regardless, this is a great choice anyway thanks to its ability to fire projectiles at enemies at a distance as well. This heavy sword features the Crow's Wing perk which lets the user swing to fire off a cross combo projectile. Its secondary perk, Tireless Blade, gives ammo for every other powered sword kill.

Swords have made a big comeback over the previous two seasons, becoming a staple for many players who traditionally have gone with Machine Guns or Grenade Launchers. The Black Talon has the advantage over other swords in that it is able to launch projectiles. Naturally, this means the player doesn't have to get up close and personal to get a kill. This also pairs extremely well with the Stronghold exotic Titan gauntlets, turning players basically into an infinite sword fighter.

Additional perks:

  • Tempered Edge
  • Heavy Guard

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for June 12, 2020:

  • Promethium Spur (Warlock leg armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Raiden Flux (Hunter chest armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Synthoceps (Titan gauntlets) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Black Talon (Sword) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
