This week in Destiny 2's Season of Dawn finally saw more content arrive inside of the game. While the more challenging Legendary difficulty for the Sundial activity went live this past Tuesday during the reset, a new exotic quest also started appearing. Devil's Ruin, a new sidearm that can fire off a charged laser shot is proving to be a bit divisive with the community on how useful it actually is. Some seem to love it thanks to its special hidden ability, while others are more content with leaving it in their tower vault.

A new glitch has also reared its head, but has quickly been temporarily dealt with thanks to Bungie being back from the holiday season. Titan players discovered a favorable glitch when using the Wormgod Caress gauntlets, letting them stack bonus melee damage while removing the timer for the buff. When paired with a throwing hammer, Titans could unintentionally dish out incredible amounts of damage very quickly. As a temporary fix, Bungie has disabled the exotic item for the time being.

With the weekend nearly here, Destiny 2's exotic merchant Xur has returned once again with four exotic items up for purchase. Follow this guide for his location as well as a review of what he's currently selling for the weekend of January 10, 2020.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur can be found on Titan hiding in his usual building at The Rig.

Once loaded into The Rig, start heading to the other side of the zone towards the ramp that leads to the Solarium. Before reaching that ramp, Xur can be found inside one of the nearby houses, typically on the left side if the player is facing the Solarium ramp.

Class Armor

Keep in mind that the Armor 2.0 update has caused Xur's items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week, including newer exotic items.

Here are Xur's three gear pieces this weekend:

Transversive Steps - Warlock boots

For solo oriented Warlocks, Xur has the Transversive Steps. They come with the intrinsic perk Strange Protractor which increases sprint speed and automatically reloads the currently equipped weapon after a short time sprinting.

Naturally, these are a universally great option especially in PvP where players are typically running around maps. Not having to take the few seconds to reload a weapon can sometimes mean the different between winning a gunfight or respawning. It's a fun exotic to play around with even if there are better options out there like the Lunafactions.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +17
  • Resilience +2
  • Recovery +7
  • Discipline +6
  • Intellect +10
  • Strength +6

Lucky Pants - Hunter boots

Even though Sidearms are getting spotlighted this season, hand cannons continue to be a dominant option, with plenty of weapons to pick from. That's why the Lucky Pants may be a viable options for Hunter players.

Its intrinsic perk Illegally Modded Holster, loads one round into the chamber of stowed hand cannons after a precision hit. In addition, hand cannons ready faster and have a bonus to accuracy after switching to them. Considering that the perk is so dependent on a single type of weapon, it's not going to be for everyone.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +7
  • Resilience +7
  • Recovery +10
  • Discipline +12
  • Intellect +6
  • Strength +6

Eternal Warrior - Titan helm

The classic Roman or Greek looking Eternal Warrior helm is once again on sale, having last been featured last November. This is a Striker Titan exotic that comes with the intrinsic perk Resolute, giving the player an overshield after Fists of Havoc is activated.

Even after the nerfs to Fists of Havoc prior to Shadowkeep, the subclass and super ability is still extremely good in all aspects of the game. While there may be other more valuable exotics, getting an overshield to help soak up damage during super activation can come in handy, especially in the Crucible.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +6
  • Resilience +12
  • Recovery +6
  • Discipline +6
  • Intellect +12
  • Strength +6

Exotic Weapon

After its debut last month, the Black Talon sword is back in stock with Xur this weekend. This heavy sword features the Crow's Wing perk which lets the user swing to fire off a cross combo projectile. Its secondary perk, Tireless Blade, gives ammo for every other powered sword kill.

While most people tend to stick with machine guns and grenade launchers over swords, the Black Talon has the advantage over other swords in that it is able to launch projectiles. Naturally, this means the player doesn't have to get up close and personal to get a kill. This also pairs extremely well with the Stronghold exotic Titan gauntlets, turning players basically into an infinite sword fighter.

Additional perks:

  • Tempered Edge
  • Heavy Guard

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for January 10, 2020:

  • Transversive Steps (Warlock boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Lucky Pants (Hunter boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Eternal Warrior (Titan helmet) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Black Talon (Sword) - 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
