Fans are now just days away from Bungie's big Anniversary Update to Destiny 2, which includes both free and paid content. This week's blog post also shed a bit more light on some of the content including the latest news on additional changes coming to the game inside of the Sandbox update. To the delight of many, Bungie is removing the glimmer and currency requirements for swapping armor mods in an effort to promote better buildcrafting.

IN addition to sandbox changes and the upcoming Moments of Triumph for 2021, Bungie has also been teasing the Dares of Eternity 6-player activity coming in the Anniversary paid DLC. The dungeon seems to place a focus on the Nine and the mysterious vendor Xur, thoguh eagle eyed fans may have spotted a crossover that many have been hoping for. Examining a recent screenshot may have revealed a Destiny 2 and Halo crossover as weapons like the Covenant Carbine Rifle and Battle Rifle appear to be equipped on a couple of guardians. For now, fans will have to wait for Tuesday to arrive to know for sure.

Speaking of Xur, the weekend exotic gear merchant has once again made his return to Destiny 2 with a new set of Legendary and Exotic gear for purchase. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cypher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic gear he's brought for the weekend of December 3, 2021.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur has returned to the Tower Hangar.

After loading into The Tower, head to the left down into the Hangar. Down the stairs, take another left and go beyond where the Dead Orbit faction used to be. Xur can be found on the metal platform overlooking the mountains.

Class Armor and Exotic Cypher

In Season of the Lost, Xur's role has expanded as the exotic merchant has weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

With Season 15, Xur is now selling even more gear outside of his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer. Better yet, the stat rolls are pretty solid on the Black Armor gear for this week.

Exotic Armor

Apotheosis Veil - Warlock helmet

The Apotheosis Veil is a solid support exotic that isn't dependent on subclass. It comes with the exotic perk Insatiable, which immediately regenerates the player's health, melee, grenade, and rift energy when activating their super. Nearby allies also recharge class abilities faster as well.

It's likely not great in all situations, but it could come in handy when playing difficult activities or even in competitive PvP modes. It may not replace the standard go to exotics, but could be worth a look for some players. This week, the Warlock's exotic roll is pretty good, coming in at a 64 total.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +12
  • Resilience +3
  • Recovery +17
  • Discipline +8
  • Intellect +13
  • Strength +10
Destiny 2 Arcstrider

Raiden Flux - Hunter chest armor

The Raiden Flux exotic chest piece comes with the perk Synapse Junctions which buffs Arcstrider staff damage and duration when chaining moves together. To really maximize the return this exotic provides, its recommended that Hunters perform the light hit, light hit, heavy hit combo attack.

This is arguably the best exotic gear for Arcstrider Hunters and is absolutely recommended for players who like to run this subclass. The damage increase is substantial against all types of enemies and the added duration is extremely helpful. Compared to the other two options, Raiden Flux is a bit disappointing featuring poor recovery and the lowest total roll at 61. However, considering how popular the Arcstrider subclass is about to become due to upcoming buffs, this one may still be worth picking up.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +17
  • Resilience +13
  • Recovery +2
  • Discipline +9
  • Intellect +13
  • Strength +7

An Insurmountable Skullfort - Titan Helmet

It's been a very long time since this exotic has appeared with Xur, meaning it may be appealing for collectors who have yet to grab it. An Insurmountable Skullfort is a perfect compliment to players who favor close quarters. Transfusion Matrix is its intrinsic perk which triggers health regeneration and restores melee energy after getting a kill with an arc melee ability.

Although Shoulder Charge is getting a pretty big nerf in the Anniversary update next week, this item will help power it up a bit, even giving the user nearly unlimited melee attacks under the right conditions. It’s a wonderful PvE item and equally as strong in PvP for Earthshaker or Missle Striker Titans. The stat roll this week is decent coming in at 63 in total, though some of the values for Recovery are quite low.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

  • Mobility +21
  • Resilience +7
  • Recovery +3
  • Discipline +10
  • Intellect +2
  • Strength +20

Exotic Weapon

Players looking for a weapon that can absolutely shred enemies should look no further than the original Destiny 2 rampage gun, Huckleberry. This exotic SMG is a primary slot weapon capable of dealing large amounts of damage very quickly thanks to its intrinsic perk Ride the Bull. While the trigger is held down, the weapon gains an increased rate of fire and recoil. In addition, any kills with the weapon will reload a portion of the magazine as well. The weapon also comes with rampage, which gives it increased damage (holding up to 3 stacks) after a kill, and Ricochet Rounds which causes bullets to bounce and redirect off hard surfaces.

Destiny 2 The Huckleberry Gold

Naturally, this is a great weapon for clearing out large groups of enemies, which means it truly shines in PvE activities. It can be a chaotic especially as it gets going but once players grab the Huckleberry catalyst from completing Strikes, Crucible rounds, or Gambit matches, the gun becomes even better. For those who don't have it, this is absolutely worth a pickup this week.

Additional perks:

  • Fluted Barrel
  • Short-Action Stock
