The world of Destiny 2 is heading towards its next evolution with the Season of Opulence on June 4. Bungie has promised changes to the Eververse store and even plans to launch the Crown of Sorrows raid alongside the day 1 update instead of waiting a few days.

However, for most players, the most meaningful change with this newest season is the update that comes with it. Many fan favorite exotics are getting altered or nerfed including the Whisper of the Worm sniper rifle. Fans continue to express their displeasure over these planned changes, though it appears that the backlash won't change Bungie's mind before the update launches.

For now, Xur is back for the weekend in Destiny 2 with an all-new inventory of exotics for players to purchase. Here's where players can find Xur, get details on the latest Invitation of the Nine quest, and find out exotic items are on offer for the weekend of May 24, 2019.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, Xur is at the Winding Cove inside the European Dead Zone.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Invitation of the Nine Quest Week 10

The Invitation of the Nine quest series has restarted back to step 1, starting a brand new cycle. As such, players will find this week's activity set within the European Dead Zone.

Here are the details:

  • The World - Collect 9 samples from Taken, Cabal, and Fallen. Complete the Lake of Shadows Strike.

Class Armor

Forsaken exotics are once again on sale this week for Titans and Warlocks. Unlike last week, these three gear pieces seem to be safe from the upcoming major nerf that Bungie is planning for the start of the next season. As always, players can roll the dice by picking up a Fated Engram which has a great chance to give the layer an exotic from the Forsaken expansion.

Here are all three gear pieces for this weekend:

Chromatic Fire - Warlock chest armor

The Chromatic Fire chest armor originally introduced as part of the Forsaken expansion, is back on sale for Warlocks this weekend. The armor comes equipped with the Crystalline Transistor perk which causes an explosion in the element of the player’s equipped subclass after a kinetic precision kill.

Based on its ability, this armor really excels in PvE situations, especially where the user is going up against a lot of enemies where the area of effect can maximize the damage. So places like Gambit and the newly introduced Reckoning mode would be great places to wear this item. While PvP is hit or miss, some players have express success when pairing this gear up with certain weapons like the Ace of Spades or Blast Furnace.

Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Mobility
  • Unflinching Fusion Rifle Aim, Unflinching Bow Aim, Unflinching Kinetic Aim
  • Scout Rifle Reserves OR Special Ammo Finder

Raiden Flux - Hunter chest armor

A valuable exotic for Arcstrider Hunters, the Raiden Flux is a solid all around piece of armor. Through its intrinsic perk Synapse Junctions, any quick successive hits made with the arc staff super increase its damage and overall duration.

With similar utility to the Gwisin Vest and Shards of Galanor, the Raiden Flux is a must have armor piece for arcstriders. It is valuable in nearly all game modes in Destiny 2, especially ones with a boss fight.

Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Resilience
  • Unflinching Fusion Rifle Aim, Unflinching Bow Aim, Unflinching Kinetic Aim
  • Scout Rifle Reserves OR Special Ammo Finder

One-Eyed Mask - Titan helm

The item that many have already begun to worry that will negatively impact the PvP competitive grind this weekend is the Titan's One-Eyed Mask. The reason is primarily because of its intrinsic perk Vengeance which activates after the wearer takes damage. With the perk active, the player that did the damaging is highlighted and the wearer gains an over shield and damage buff.

Because of this, the One-Eyed Mask is an extremely powerful PvP item. For players that favor that side of Destiny 2, this is a must own. However, it's also not bad for PvE activities either, especially in modes like Gambit.

Fixed Gear Rolls:

  • Restorative OR Mobility
  • Fusion Rifle Targeting, Hand Cannon Targeting, Hands On
  • Sniper Rifle Reserves OR Machine Gun Reserves

Exotic Weapon

Almost one month later, the Sweet Business auto rifle is back in stock with Xur. This minigun looking exotic features a perk known as Payday which grants the gun a larger magazine and increased accuracy when firing from the hip. Its secondary perk, Business Time, boosts the range and rate of fire while the trigger is held. In addition, ammo pickups are automatically loaded into the gun.

Though not the best exotic gun available for use, it does have its moments in certain situations. Titans using the Actium War Rigs and a rally barricade can essentially create infinite ammo for themselves. It’s also a great weapon to clear ads within PvE modes and deal quick damage to bosses but is fairly limited against other players in PvP.

Here's the complete rundown of Xur's entire stock in Destiny 2 for May 24:

  • Chromatic Fire (Warlock chest armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Raiden Flux (Hunter chest armor) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • One-Eyed Mask (Titan helmet) – 23 Legendary Shards
  • Sweet Business (Auto Rifle) – 29 Legendary Shards
  • The World - 9 Legendary Shards
  • Fated Engram - 97 Legendary Shards
  • Five of Swords Challenge Card

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
