Before the launch of Destiny 2’s 2.0 Update, Bungie warned players that there would be some irregularities with their experience. With an update as substantial as this, one that is meant to pave the way for a Year 2, expansion there is always bound to be issues and Bungie has identified one and plans to fix it next week.

Players may have noticed that the XP bar in Destiny 2 is no longer tracking experience earned like it once did. The bad news is that this is a confirmed bug that Bungie plans to fix in a patch that releases alongside Destiny 2: Forsaken. The good news is the bug is only visual; players are still receiving the correct amount of XP for activities and they will earn Bright Engrams once they “fill the bar.”

Players have reported their XP bars are not showing the XP gained after completing activities and fighting enemies. This is a visual issue, and players should still gain levelling rewards as normal.

In the grand scheme of things, this is a small issue for Destiny 2 players but it did cause a shock at first. With how secretive Bungie has been with regards to XP – the developer once hid an XP cooldown in the game – it wouldn’t have been surprising to see some less than desirable changes. Luckily that was not the case and everything is running normally behind the scenes.

That being said, there are a number of other bugs in Destiny 2: Forsaken for players to be aware of. Some perks are not working as intended, like Triple Tap drawing from reserves when it is supposed to grant free ammo. The new 500-slot vault might not display info correctly if players have a lot of items. And Flashpoint challenge completion will only show 1% complete, but the progress bar will still fill like normal.

On the flip side, there is a bug within the game that is letting players unlock new Forsaken gear before the expansion hits. At first, players thought this might be Bungie’s way to build hype for Forsaken, not unlike when players could get Taken King weapons early, but that apparently is not the case. Any who are lucky enough to get Forsaken gear, and it is not level 35, should take advantage.

Destiny 2: Forsaken releases September 4, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
