A massive leak regarding Destiny 2’s Witch Queen, Savathuan, has spilt its way onto Reddit and Twitter. Potential spoilers ahead, as the validity of these claims are up for debate, although it would be safe to assume this image, in particular, may be logically legit as multiple seasonal concept art has leaked in the past only to turn out to be true.

The leak originated from the “Raid Secrets” Discord. Additionally, DestinyNews+ has removed their original quote of the image, although a reply preserved the quote tweet, which simply stated “hi this is Savathun.” This graphic is most likely for The Witch Queen expansion, as opposed to it being for Season 15.

The image, for all intents and purposes, looks to be a thumbnail for a Destiny 2 storefront listing such as Epic Games or PlayStation Network. That image has now been upscaled by AI in order to produce a larger image that has circulated on social media, but because of the conversion, it has the appearance of, say fan art, due to the impression of it now being painted.

All-in-all, this is allegedly Savathun in her final form, topped with a built-in crown with pointed-shoulders, or debatably wings. But, what makes this leak exceptional is that in the upper-right corner of the image, it would appear Savathun has a Ghost. So, if this concept art is genuine, Savathun has figured out how to get light for herself and maybe the Hive as a whole. After all, it's long been suspected that she is seeking to become a light-bearer to attain immortality through the absorption of the light. However, considering this is Savathun, all of this is likely just one large scheme, such as the Season of the Splicer Vex event, meant to allow her to gain even more power from even more confusion around her.

Since she was alluded to in Destiny 1, it is clear Savathun has become the new focus on Destiny 2. According to in-game lore, Savathun wants to be free of the darkness' control, and this may be the means for her to do so. Consequently, having Savathun obtain the light is incredibly intriguing as it has the potential to radically change how the Destiny universe operates if any of this turns out to be a long-term expansion, rather than a one-off boss battle.

Overall, the arrival of Savathun the Witch Queen and the Hive has enormous ramifications for the Sol system. This was preceded by significant events that occurred with each expansion. The Pyramids' arrival, Savathun and Xivu Arath's rising influence in Sol, and the constantly shifting alliances of other hostile interplanetary species are just a few examples. However, as with all leaks, gamers should take this image with a hint of skepticism.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light and Season of the Splicer are available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
