Bungie is releasing Destiny 2: The Witch Queen in February and it just released a big blog post detailing several changes coming to the game on top of what players can expect from the new expansion. Included with all of these are notable changes to Tower vendors.

According to Bungie, the Gunsmith Banshee-44 is getting a new reputation system similar to the other vendors in the Tower like Zavala and Shaxx. In order to switch to the new system, Bungie is changing the items currently associated with the Gunsmith reputation to a new set of rewards. Destiny 2 players will continue to dismantle Legendary and Exotic weapons and armor with Banshee-44 in order to earn Reputation Rank.

Bungie has also stated that Destiny 2 fans will still be able to complete daily Gunsmith bounties in order to earn Reputation Rank during the Witch Queen expansion. Some Gunsmith reputation rewards that players might want to look at before their removal include items like Foundry weapons, Gunsmith Materials, Weapon Telemetries, shaders, and Armor Mods. Fans have until the release of The Witch Queen on February 22 to exchange their Gunsmith Materials and Weapon Telemetries for current items.

Weapon and armor mods sold by Banshee-44 and Ada-1 will no longer require Mod Components to purchase according to Bungie, and they will cost 10,000 Glimmer each under the new system. Mod Components will be removed from Destiny 2 completely with The Witch Queen, so players may want to dispose of this resource ahead of the expansion's release as well. Because Mod Components are being removed from the game, Ghost Mods that generated Weapon Telemetries will also be removed due to redundancy.

Tower vendors in Destiny 2 currently offer two mods at a single time, but when The Witch Queen releases, the vendors will carry four mods. Some of the items that Banshee-44 and Ada-1 once offered will be sold at the same price in the Tower by Master Rahool. Rahool will also be taking over Spider’s material exchange because Destiny 2's Tangled Shore is going away with The Witch Queen.

In an effort to solve an issue with Destiny 2 players having to go between H.E.L.M. and the Tower to decrypt all the engrams in their inventory, Bungie has enabled Master Rahool to decrypt Umbral engrams in The Witch Queen. Bungie also stated that individual Seasonal weapons and armor will be sold by Seasonal Vendors in Destiny 2's H.E.L.M. hub which will be the primary location for players focusing on seasonal content. Glimmer will still be used for most of Rahool's items, though Enhancement Prisms and Planetary Materials can also be used as currency.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen will be released on February 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
