Many Guardians are anxiously anticipating Destiny 2's scheduled live stream later today, with the event set to provide even more details about what players can expect in the game's next big expansion. Although before the killer Witch Queen could make her official reveal, an Australian PlayStation Store listing appears to have pulled the curtains too early and has exposed everything.

Destiny 2 fans have a lot to look forward to lately, with major news drops regarding the Season of the Lost, which features unique events plus rewards, and now The Witch Queen expansion. The DLC will bring along a whole slew of content, including a new destructive weapon type, environments, and more.

Put forward into the spotlight by "Destiny 2 News" on Twitter, the PS Store lists the release of The Witch Queen expansion as February 23, 2022. Not only was the date of the upcoming DLC revealed, but also the description plus three in-game marketing screenshots which include an image of a custom Throne World-inspired Ghost Shell, three towering Guardians standing in a thick, green fog, and a close-up view of the intimidating Savathun.

The listing describes the overall expansion as "the definitive Destiny campaign," explaining that Guardians will dive into a "twisted wonderland of corruption and splendor." The prime destination being Savathun's Throne World, a hellish landscape teased in the recent short trailer, along with the villain herself creeping past a pool of bodies. According to the store description, the environment "plays host to a fragile balance of power. From her palace to the swamp, all that she hides can be found here."

In addition to these distinctive environments to battle upon, a new weapon type is arriving in Destiny 2's ever-expanding arsenal. Based on the listing, players will be able to wield a unique "Glaive weapon type," and bring carnage to pirates and scavengers by unleashing "powerful melee combos, projectile attacks," including a "deployable energy shield."

Bungie reveals the height of Savathun before Witch Queen reveal.

Players will also be able to pre-order the Deluxe Edition of the expansion for something in the ballpark of $87.21 (in USD, based on current AUD conversion). Doing so will grant buyers access to the following content:

  • Seasons 16-19
  • Two Year-5 Dungeons
  • An Exotic SMG
  • Catalyst
  • Ornament
  • An Exotic Sparrow

With that said, simply pre-ordering will unlock "The Throne World Exotic Ghost Shell," "The Enigma Exotic emote," and a "New Emblem."

Nothing more is stated in the store listing, and Bungie has been infamously tight-lipped about the entire expansion and the store leaks as yet. However, for players itching for more information about Destiny 2's titular Hive God, there will be a live stream held by the developers, which will kick off on August 24, at 9 AM PT, 12 PM ET, and 5 PM BST.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
