Beyond Light is the newest full-size expansion to arrive to Destiny 2. Guardians arrive on Europa and learn to wield the Darkness from an old Stranger, Elsie Bray. While Guardians are now in the second half of the Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion, rumors have popped up regarding the next big expansion, The Witch Queen.

While some of these Destiny 2 leaks have come to be true, nothing else in these leaks have been confirmed by Bungie and could very well be fake. There is some information hidden in this old leak that has been slowly proving its validity but should be taken as fake until proven otherwise. As with all leaked information, however, there is the possibility that none of it is true or it could be changed by the official launch of the new content. Being that this is covering potential spoiler territory, Guardians should be aware this article could have MAJOR SPOILERS for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.

Catching Up The Timeline

Guardians have been preeparing for The Witch Queen for quite a while at this point with very subtle in-game story threads that all tie into The Witch Queen expansion. Guardians are currently looking for a way to end the Endless Night, a shroud of night that has been cast over the Last City by the Vex, possibly manipulated by Savathun, The Witch Queen herself.

With The Witch Queen drawing nearer, it is no surprise that rumors and potential leaks have circulated around the Destiny community. One bit of leaked information seems to originate from Season 12, Season of the Hunt. The leaked information continuously refers to Season of the Chosen as “next season” giving placement in the timeline for their potential leaks.

Because of the leak seemingly originating from Season of the Hunt, Guardians can use theleaked information for Season of the Chosen as a means of creditability. The latest known date that the document of the leaked information was edited was at the end of April, before the Season of the Splicer was announced, so Guardians should keep that in mind moving forward.

Using Season of the Chosen, Guardians can see what leaks came true and what did not, however, the leak mentioned the next season (Season of the Chosen) involving Calus’s Daughter with her own Legion. This came to be true as Guardians encountered Caiatl in Season of the Chosen. This leak gave details about how Bright Dust would be changing with a new Seasonal Challenges system, which Guardians will recognize as the Weekly Seasonal Challenges.

The leaked information further claimed that Guardians would get a new Stasis Aspect and four new Stasis Fragments every season up to The Witch Queen. This has so far been true. The leak talks about more things that came to be true such as the new Season of the Chosen strike replacing the Inverted Spire in the Grandmaster Nightfall rotation and the new seasonal hub, The H.E.L.M.

Moving Forward

Destiny 2: Beyond Light Eramis Stasis

This leak also discussed the Vex getting a new color pallet, making them more vibrant. Season of the Splicer has given the Vex a new synth-wave aesthetic that is much more vibrant. As always, these leaks could be staged and fake, so Guardians should assume nothing and the Vex themselves have not had a large change in their aesthetic outside of their Vex Network.

Touching on the upcoming return of the Vault of Glass, the leak mentions Wyverns will be added, Gorgons have 12X more health because of how much stronger Guardians are now, new ship but no Timebreaker Sparrow and no Chatterwhite shader. The leak also mentions the return of the Vex Mythoclast and 6 Vault of Glass weapons - this has turned out to be true as well.

Moving further in the timeline, this leak mentions that Season 15 will start in August - this has come to be confirmed with the current Season 14 roadmap ending in August. The leaks hit unknown territory, talking about future events such as the arrival of a new Dungeon this year and Eramis returning soon. While Guardians know Eramis is not dead, her return seems like an obvious thing, so this could be pure speculation based on what Guardians already know.

Getting into deeper spoiler territory, this leak discusses a new element, "Vapour," a damage-over-time element similar to Thorn and Necrotic Grip. This could be accurate as many Destiny 2 has been setting up the poison-like element of Thorn to be its own element type in-game, even expanding upon its effects with the Warlock Exotic Gauntlets, Necrotic Grip. However, the Destiny community has long speculated a Thorn-like element entering the game so this could just be repurposing that speculation.

When it comes to a Guardian’s Super, the leak suggests Bungie will not be scrapping any of the current Supers but rather making Subclasses 3.0, making them more like the current Aspect and Fragment setup of Stasis. This is something that Bungie has addressed, and the Destiny community has speculated about, however, Luke Smith, the then Creative Director of Destiny 2, has mentioned revamping the Light-based subclasses. Luke Smith also mentioned possibly removing Supers to better consolidate the subclasses.

Season 15, according to this leak, will be titled Season of the Lost, and will be the season that Mara Sov returns, finally bringing a conclusion to the Dreaming City with the Taken and the Scorn. Season 15 is the last season before the launch of The Witch Queen expansion and that means that Destiny 2’s Forsaken content will be vaulted, making Season 15 the perfect time to conclude the story of the Dreaming City and bring back Mara Sov. This would also make the perfect time for Crow to learn about his past considering that Queen Mara Sov will still recognize Crow as her brother.

The Witch Queen

The highly anticipated Destiny 2 expansion The Witch Queen will kick off Season 16 in Destiny 2 and it has Guardians excited for what will happen when Guardians face off against Oryx’s sister, Savathun. As mentioned before, even if these leaks are fake and turn out to be false, MAJOR SPOILERS for The Witch Queen ahead, just in case.

This leaked information suggests that Osiris has been replaced by Savathun and has been behind the events of the last year and Guardians will find this out in Season 15, Season of the Lost. Savathun will apparently return Osiris to the Guardians in exchange for the Guardian's help in getting rid of her Worm.

It is suggested in this leaked information that Savathun will not be the final boss in The Witch Queen Raid. This means that the raid boss could be another Worm God if Guardians help Savathun get rid of her Worm.

Considering none of this speculation about future content has been confirmed by Bungie, it could be fake and should be taken with a grain of salt until otherwise confirmed by Bungie. With The Witch Queen expansion not launching until early 2022, a lot of things could change, shifting the story entirely.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
