After months of teases, leaks, and rumors, Bungie finally revealed the Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2. At long last, the Hive Queen Savathun is finally in the spotlight as the main antagonist, set to pay off years of story setup. While speculation centered on the arrival of Old Chicago as the new destination, the heavy forested area seen in the trailer is actually Savathun's Throne World, and looks to hold many secrets for players to delve into, including the discovery of Hive Guardians.

The reveal stream also gave players a look at the new glaive weapon, which also introduces weapon crafting into the Destiny franchise. Unlike every other piece of gear, players will need to craft this weapon through gameplay events, helping give it a bit more meaning than simply finding it on the ground. Unfortunately, no other details were given surrounding weapon crafting or how players acquire materials, though it may involve numerous quest steps similar to the armor transmog feature.

Outside of new gameplay features, Bungie also revealed the various Witch Queen editions players could purchase, with some editions offering additional content for those who don't mind spending a bit more. For those who want the ultimate package, the Collector's Edition comes packed with both digital and physical items. Here's everything that's included in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Collector's Edition.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Game Versions

As expected, the Collector's Edition comes with the Deluxe Version of the Witch Queen expansion, as well as the upcoming Bungie 30th Anniversary bundle. The Deluxe Version includes an exotic SMG with an ornament and catalyst, access to seasons 16, 17, 18, and 19, two Dungeons planned to release in Year 5, as well as the throne world exotic sparrow.

For those who don't know, the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack includes a new dungeon to explore, exotic ships and sparrows, emblems, shaders, emotes, a Thorn inpsired armor set, as well as ornaments themed after Bungie and it's legacy titles like Marathon. The appeal for most longtime fans is the long awaited return of the iconic Gjallarhorn exotic rocket launcher, last seen in the original Destiny.

However, for those who only want the goodies included in the Collector's Edition, there's an option that doesn't come with a game code.

Collector's Edition Digital Goodies

In addition to the game itself, the Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Collector's Edition comes with a bunch of digital items both for the game as well as player's enjoyment of it outside of the experience.

Digital goodies inside of the Collector's Edition include:

  • Digital Pre-order Pack which includes the Throne World exotic ghost shell, Enigma exotic emote, and a legendary emblem.
  • Digital soundtrack
  • Exclusive Collector's Edition Emblems

Physical Goodies

As Bungie has shown in the past with previous expansions such as the Beyond Light Collector's Edition, its not afraid to craft truly unique items. For The Witch Queen, the standout piece is a Lucent Hive Ghost replica that can be placed on an included stand. In fact, the Ghost itself can be attached to a Psychometer Replica investigation kit, which also has lights and sounds. Bungie even posted a small tease that players can use the Psychometer to experiement with artifacts to gather evidence and unlock clues. While cryptic, it's likely that some of the include items in this edition of the game can be used with the Psychometer to unlock more in-game goodies.

In addition to those big items, the Collector's Edition also includes The Hidden ID Badge and Dossier lore booklet as well as Lenticular Reveal Card. The Collector's Edition, which launches on February 22, 2022, retails for $249.99 or the $150 without a game code.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
