Today Sony announced a Destiny 2 PS4 Pro bundle that will include a copy of the game, a Glacier White PS4 Pro with a 1TB HDD, and a Glacier White DualShock 4 controller to match. It also comes with a voucher for the digital content pack, which includes access to the Destiny 2 Expansion Pass and "premium" digital content like a legendary sword, legendary player emote, and Cabal Empire themed emblem.

Available starting on September 6, the Destiny 2 bundle will retail for $449.99 USD/$549.99 CAN in North America. It will also be available in Europe, though prices for the region have yet to be announced.

Sony calls this a "great bundle" for those considering the switch to the PS4 Pro, but it also says that the bundle is "limited edition." Given how popular the first white PS4 Destiny bundle was, prospective buyers will want to act fast, pre-ordering now to secure one before stock runs out.

Destiny 2 PC version recoil

As Destiny 2 doesn't release on consoles for over a month, some may find it odd that Sony is promoting its console bundle now instead of closer to launch. But Sony explains that it wants to start the "celebration" of the Destiny 2 beta a bit early. Those who pre-order the game on PS4 get to take part in the beta on July 18th - a day before those who pre-order on Xbox One - and Sony is just trying to capitalize on the hype in the best way it can before the beta testing period begins.

However, some are disappointed that the bundle doesn't offer some sort of special engraving. Sony released a themed PS4 for the release of Destiny: The Taken King DLC and some fans are asking why it couldn't offer something similar for this. The counter-argument from Sony may be that it wants the bundle to appeal to casual fans too, who may not want a specific engraving even if they do want to get in on the deal.

Engraving frustration aside, the Destiny 2 hype train has certainly left the station. The game seems to make headlines every day, including information about locked weapon loadouts, rewards, and more. With the beta kicking off soon, that's unlikely to slow down and so fans of the franchise should settle in.

Destiny 2 will launch September 6, 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One, with a release on PC October 24, 2017.
