As fans suspected, Destiny 2’s new secret quest that rewards the exotic sniper Whisper of the Worm is live once again. And with it, developer Bungie has established the schedule for the quest, which for the foreseeable future, will go live on Fridays and then disappear on Monday at the 10 a.m. PST daily reset. For those who may not know, the Whisper of the Worm is one of the highest damaging weapons in the game and is also the return of a Destiny 1 favorite, and it is very much worth the effort of earning.
When the quest to earn it first went live last Friday, fans did not even think of it as a quest that would only be live for a limited time, but late Sunday night Bungie tweeted that the quest would in fact be unavailable the following Monday morning. Bungie also promised in the tweet that the quest would return the following week. After hearing that, players suspected that it would return on Friday based on the fact that the quest was first discovered last Friday.
The timeline was confirmed by Bungie on its own help forums saying, “The Whisper of the Worm opens on Friday and ends on Monday morning at 10 AM PDT.” As of this writing, the quest is now live and will therefore remain open until Monday. For those who have not completed the quest, be sure to check out Game Rant’s guide to earning the very powerful Whisper of the Worm exotic sniper rifle.
Interestingly, the Whisper of the Worm and the secret quest players must complete to earn it reinvigorated Destiny 2’s fanbase last weekend as players logged on to get their hands on the weapon. There were even some streamers who helped carry viewers through the quest, taking the place of what was Trials of the Nine carries. LFG sites were also more active than usual last weekend as players looked to group up for the quest.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
