While a lot of the debate surrounding Destiny 2 right now has to do with Iron Banner and the game’s Token system, the smaller machinations are still running as usual. Xur is back to offer more exotic items, some of which may give players an edge during the monthly PvP event.

This week, Destiny 2 players can find Xur on Nessus, in the Arcadian Valley of Watcher’s Grave. Regular Xur patrons will remember this as the first spot he set up shop in Destiny 2, high atop a tree.

Had Xur originally been hidden from the map and the markers, this might have seemed like a cool hiding place for the Agent of the Nine. Unfortunately, Bungie took all of that guess work out of the equation by showing players where Xur is and giving them the ability to mark him.

Xur Exotic Armor Choices

Xur’s exotic armor selection this weekend includes the Knucklehead Radar helmet for Hunters, the Peacekeepers boots for Titans, and the Wings of the Sacred Dawn chest piece for Warlocks. All three are solid choices for their respective classes, lending their unique perks to PvE and PvP situations.

The Hunter helmet is a carryover from Destiny 1 where it helped players in PvP keep their radar active while aiming down sights. Considering Bungie increased the cooldown between radar respawn when aiming, the helmet is actually even more useful since it ensures players will always have situational awareness.

The Peacekeepers boots are a fun exotic option for those players that enjoy the submachine gun weapon class. With the boots equipped, a submachine gun is automatically reloaded any time it is stowed, meaning players can switch the SMG out, deal some damage with a different weapon, and then switch back and the SMG will have full ammo. The Peacekeepers are particularly fun to use with a double SMG loadout since the player can keep switching back and forth without ever reloading.

In Destiny 1, Warlocks had an ability called angel of light that let them hover in the air while aiming, and the Wings of the Sacred Dawn chest piece brings that into Destiny 2. The only catch is that players need to be on the Dawnblade subclass to take advantage of the perk. The exotic armor piece also ups the ante by letting players extend the duration of their hover by getting precision kills.

Xur's Exotic Weapon

For his exotic weapon, this week Xur has the Fighting Lion grenade launcher on sale. Although the weapon sports a cool aesthetic similar to Gjallarhorn, it is one of the worst exotics in Destiny 2 currently.

The weapon does very little damage to enemies and with only a single grenade in the chamber it is unlikely to kill anything but the lowest tier adds. It’s even difficult to trigger the gun’s exotic perk, which instantly reloads a round if the player kills an enemy initially damaged by the Fighting Lion.

For a full rundown of Xur’s items and prices see the list below:

  • Peacekeepers (Titan Boots) – 23 Legendary Shards
