One week after the launch of Destiny 2: Forsaken, and players are seemingly still only scratching at the surface that is The Dreaming City. This endgame zone clearly contains a huge amount of hidden content that is still waiting to be discovered or perhaps unlocked over time. Recently, players have begun discovering unmarked cat statues hidden all over the destination, which offer gifts to players who present an offering to them. Three, small stone circles outside the main Dreaming City gates of Divalian Mists also spawn new boss characters to fight, though at least three people are required in order to summon them.
Players are now entering the second week of the Forsaken expansion, and surprisingly, the topic of resets has been under a bit of controversy as of late. Due to some odd behavior with the new challenge reset system added with Forsaken, as the Gambit, Crucible, and heroic story weekly challenges seemingly reset early on Saturday. Unfortunately, this means that those who completed them won’t find new ones available today. Bungie is aware of the situation and is working on a fix, though it won’t be ready in time this week.
Even those negatively impacted by the glitch, there’s still plenty of new content to check out in the Weekly Reset. For the complete list of challenges and modifiers for the week of September 11, consult this revamped Destiny 2 reset guide.
Nightfall Strike Details
Nightfall Strike Options: Inverted Spire; The Hollowed Lair; Will of the Thousands
New to the Sandbox update is the choice of three different Nightfall strikes for the week. For September 11, players can pick from Inverted Spire, the longest-tenured strike considering it was offered in the beta, The Hollowed Lair, another new Forsaken strike, and Will of the Thousands, the final mission from the Warmind campaign. Hover over each one to view strike modifiers for each as well.
Each option starts at a recommended power level of 540, so players may want to grind for new gear a bit before taking on these missions. Keep in mind that players can only select a Nightfall from expansions they already own.
- Equipment Locked: Once the mission starts, players can no longer switch their currently equipped gear.
- Extinguish: Once a fireteam dies in a restricted zone, they’re returned to orbit.
Flashpoint Location: Nessus
This week, the Flashpoint milestone has moved to Nessus. As part of the recent Sandbox Update, players no longer have to only rely on public events to complete this task. Clearing Lost Sectors and Heroic Adventures are another way to fill the progression meter. As always, consult our heroic modifier guide for public events to help finish this a bit faster.
The milestone is tracked from the location vendor on the planet and once at 100%, make sure to visit Failsafe at Exodus Black for the powerful reward.
Tower Objectives and Bounties
As players have discovered over the course of the previous week, bounties are just about everywhere these days. Tess Everis has another gift for players at the Tower, and as usual, she’s offering a new set of Eververse Bounties to pick from as well as one special one that can be purchased for a small amount of glimmer instead of the usual bounty notes. Her bounties range in cost, with the more expensive ones requiring a bit more effort from players, but rewarding them with more bright dust as well.
Clan Steward, Suraya Hawthorne also has clan oriented bounties players can pick up to earn XP. While these bounties update regularly, players now need to complete them in order to earn the Clan XP powerful reward for the week.
Ikora Rey, the Warlock Vanguard, is once again offering players powerful gear for completing 20 bounties. Considering the nearly limitless bounty supply the game gives players through a variety of vendors, this shouldn’t take much time at all.
Shaxx, The Drifter, and Zavala all offer their usual bounties for their associated game modes as well.
For players at The Dreaming City, Petra Venj is offering powerful rewards for those who complete three weekly bounties from her.
Crucible Milestone and Weekly Playlist
Complete Crucible Matches – Finish 5 total Crucible matches. Any of the playlists count towards this milestone except a private match.
Keep in mind that due to the reset glitch, players that finished the Crucible challenge on Saturday won’t have a new one available today. Even without the weekly challenge, daily objectives pop up from time to time, typically requiring that players only complete one Crucible match.
Weekly Crucible Playlist – Supremacy
Vanguard Strike Milestone
Vanguard Strikes – Complete 3 strikes in the playlist.
Elemental Modifier: Arc
With heroic strikes now out of the picture completely, this milestone has gotten a bit easier. The playlist difficulty can be changed from the recommended 300 level default to level 40 and level 50, with higher levels offering better rewards.
And that’s all for this week. Good luck, Guardians!
Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
