With Curse of Osiris and season 2 still a few weeks away, Bungie wants to ensure that players still have plenty of new things to do in Destiny 2 for the time being. This past weekend, the first Clarion Call event took place, offering clan members double experience for teaming up across the various available activities. However, it appears that the event was not a complete success as some members of the community reported that the double xp modifier stopped working at various times.

This week brings Lord Saladin back to the Tower with an all new Iron Banner event. While the many changes Bungie has promised won't actually kick off until after season 2 begins, PC players now have their first opportunity to jump in and try out the unique mode. Even with loot still tied heavily to reputation tokens and RNG, players will get to experience a different style of PvP combat this week in the Iron Banner with Clash.

With only few more weeks until season 2 kicks off alongside the Curse of Osiris expansion, players have a new weekly reset to try and use to continue pushing their light levels higher and higher. Here's everything Destiny 2 players need to know for the week of November 21, 2017.

Weekly Nightfall Strike

This week in the Nightfall, guardians are once again tasked with facing off against the Vex threat on Io. The Pyramidion is the activity with the Genesis Mind known as Brakion waiting at the center. Since Zero Hour is active this week, players should choose their battles carefully as to not waste the mission timer. Once the timer runs out, the mission ends, so enemies that are not required to fight to progress should be skipped entirely.

Upon entering the massive Vex temple, players will immediately need to activate two plates while holding off waves of enemies. The quickest method would be to split the group in order to activate both plates to open the main door. With Torrent active, continue to use abilities as much as possible to clear out the Taken and Vex until the first of many laser platforming section appears. Continue moving forward while taking care to avoid the lasers which will result in a one hit kill.

Upon reaching a massive room, waves of Taken will spawn in, making it a good time to pop that super. One the room is clear, more laser rooms await until a second large room is reached. In here, players will need to work together to activate three more alters, which also cause Vex and Taken to spawn. Fight through the room, run through another laser grid, and then the third room will require the fireteam to capture four pillars of light while being under attack from Taken. After this point, Brakion awaits.

Like most bosses in Destiny 2, Brakion's fight occurs in multiple parts. Phase one is the simplest as Brakion sticks to one location shooting at the players. At half health, the battle shifts to phase two where the Vex will start to warp behind a force field for protection. TO lower it, players need to stand and activate the nearby plate, while holding off waves of Vex. Continue this until Phase three where Brakion starts to teleport often and Vex appear more regularly within the fight. At 25% health, his head will pop off giving him enhanced speed and aggression like most Vex. Finish the fight to claim victory.

The modifiers and challenges this week are:

  • Torrent: Player abilities recharge must faster than normal.
  • Timewarp: Zero Hour: The Nightfall timer cannot be extended.

The player challenges for this week are:

  • Speed of Dark requires the fireteam to finish the Nightfall with at least 5 minutes remaining on the clock.
  • To earn Unbroken, the fireteam needs to complete the Nightfall with fewer than three deaths.
  • Siege Engine: Prevent Brakion from remaing shielded for more than 40 seconds before defeating it.

Flashpoint Location and Treasure Maps

To go along with the Nightfall this week, players can take part in the Flashpoint on Jupiter's moon, Io. The name of the game is public events, so taking part in as many as possible will fill the milestone progression and triggering Heroic events will get it done even faster. Return to Cayde-6 once the quest is complete to earn the weekly luminous planetary engram.

Cayde also has his assortment of treasure maps for the week on Io as well, so players are encouraged to purchase them for a chance at unique loot. Rewards include everything from rare gear, items that can be turned in for glimmer, and even a small change at an exotic engram. Keep in mind that opening all five chests in a row will diminish chances at loot due to Bungie's chest lockout timer, so players should mix up their activities while on Io.

Here are the five general stash locations this week on Io:

  • Cache 1 can be found way down in the Endless Gate, so fast travel to The Rupture to get started. Head to the Vex encampment to the right of the map past the hole in the ground and look for a small tunnel to run down. Continue following the path until The Endless Gate area is reached and continue running through the first two rooms, shooting or avoiding the enemies here. In the second main chamber, the chest can be found before the time gate to the right side.
  • Head back to The Rupture to start the search for chest 2. All the way at the back of the zone, players can find the path connecting The Rupture to the Lost Oasis. In this narrow path, look for the treasure on a small ridge to the right side. The glowing blue light should make this one fairly visible from the road.
  • Next up is cache 3 in Terrabase Charon, so load into the Lost Oasis and follow the middle path to the Cabal stronghold. Upon entering the first area filled with enemies, this chest can be found in a small alcove immediately to the left, guarded by a handful of Taken.
  • Chest 4 is also nearby, so run out of the cave, up the hill and through the large tunnel opening. The next chest is hidden up on top of a platform held in the air by a crane. Use nearby boxes to reach the raised platform.
  • The final chest this week isn't too far away inside The Wraith Mines. From chest 4, head back, but hang a right and run through the door located on top of the cave for chest 3. Follow the path until The Wraith Mines appear and continue running through the first two rooms. In the third room, hang a right and jump to the other side of the platform. Before the foor, look to the right and the final chest can be seen hanging off a ledge. Jump off the narrow ledge to get to it in the corner.

Leviathan Raid Encounter Order/Weekly Challenge

As it is each and every reset, the Leviathan Raid encounter order has once again changed. The long-term goal of this policy helps keep the mode fresh for players continually going in, but it also helps newer players get used to the Raid and gives them an opportunity to play each part even if struggling.

The active Gauntlet Challenge for this week is with Emperor Calus. For tips and tricks, make sure to check out Calus challenge guide.

This week, the order is as follows:

  • Pleasure Gardens
  • Baths (Pools)
  • Gauntlet
  • Emperor Calus

Lord Shaxx Crucible Milestone

By now, Guardians should be pretty familiar with this weekly milestone. Call to Arms is a Crucible focused mission, requiring players to finish anywhere from 4-6 PvP matches from either the Quickplay or Competitive playlists. Finish the milestone and return to Shaxx to earn his weekly engram.

Call to Arms - Win glory by participating in Crucible matches.

And that's all for this week, Guardians. Enjoy!

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
