If last week’s Ascendant Challenge was one of the easiest, then this week’s challenge is a response to that, for it is one of the hardest Ascendant Challenges out there. Destiny 2 players will find this week’s Ascendant Challenge in the Chamber of Starlight Lost Sector in Rheasilvia, with the portal located right above the Lost Sector’s chest. Here is how players can beat this week’s Ascendant Challenge.

When players step into the Ascendant Plane, they will see the familiar Ascendant Knights that are often found in these Destiny 2 challenges. Players will quickly learn that they can hide on top of pillars and walls to avoid these pesky Knights. However, these Knights aren’t part of the challenge and are just meant to keep the players moving. If players have a Purification Ritual from Mara Sov to kill them, then this week’s Ascendant Challenge will be a blessing, for there will be plenty of Knights to kill.

Guardians will want to avoid these Knights and keep moving upward, for the goal is at the end of this treacherous staircase. Taken Hobgoblins, Thrall, and Phalanx will spawn and attempt to kill or push the player off, so bringing some good gear is highly recommended. Scout rifles will allow players to pick off the Hobgoblins and Phalanx from a distance. However, don’t stand still for too long in the open, for the Knights will constantly be chasing the player – and more will keep spawning even if players kill them. About halfway up the staircase, the Knights will lose their helmets, making them faster and more aggressive.

There are three Taken eggs in this challenge that can be broken with the Wish Ender bow. The first is toward the beginning if players look down and to the right. If players look upward toward where the end of the staircase is, the second egg should be visible. The final egg is toward the top of the spiraling staircase, which is easily visible. The lore collectible is about halfway up where the mob of Phalanx spawn in. Instead of heading right toward the objective, head left to find the Ahamkara bones.

Once players have reached the end of the staircase, they will be in an arena-like area with an Ascendant Knight. Shreikers, called “The Watchers” will spawn in that players should not kill, as they will continuously respawn. They will not attack the player unless they try to hop up on the rocks in the arena to avoid the Knight, so stay on the ground and keep the Knight at a distance without jumping up on top of something. Taken Phalanx and Thrall will spawn in occasionally, and should be quickly dispatched. Once players have defeated the Knight, the portal and chest will spawn and players are free to leave or backtrack to get the Taken eggs or lore collectible.
