Destiny 2's Solstice of Heroes event is ending soon, and after that, there will be only three full weeks left in Season of the Splicer before Season 15 goes live. As such, now is a great time to go and do quests and some farming to try and get as many good weapons as possible while the new Season closes in. There is no way of predicting exactly which weapons will be getting seasonal mods and Champion-related mods, meaning that the meta will inevitably change over the course of the first few weeks of Season 15.

However, Destiny 2 players already have a bunch of great tools of destruction to look for right now, especially with hand cannons, scout rifles, and machine guns receiving buffs next Season. As such, there are several weapons to farm because there is a good chance that they will remain (or become, in some cases) great choices even after the shift.

Hung Jury and Night Watch

Night Watch has been a great scout rifle for quite some time now, and it is very reliable. For new players, it comes with the Overflow and Explosive Payload roll when doing the New Light quests, but it is fairly easy to obtain from the world loot pool and can come with Rapid Hit and Explosive Payload instead. Hung Jury is the better option of the two, with a more varied perk pool including Rapid Hit and Explosive Payload, and also Firefly, Subsistence, and One for All. Hung Jury is currently available in Nightfall strikes.

Fatebringer and Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver

As hand cannons, both these guns deserve praise for their effectiveness. Fatebringer comes with great rolls that include Explosive Payload and Firefly, as well as Rewind Rounds and Frenzy. This weapon can be obtained from the Vault of Glass Raid, and also comes with its Timelost variant. The Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver remains the better weapon of the two because it can generate Warmind Cells, which will likely remain meta for the foreseeable future. It's tremendously hard to get, though, and it only comes from the world loot pool.

Praedyth's Revenge and Long Shadow

Destiny 2 Guardians Holding DARCI Sniper Rifles

Again, a VoG weapon. Praedyth's Revenge can currently pull DPS numbers that can compete for the highest in the game, especially if rolled with Rewind Rounds and High Impact Reserves. This combo is incredible because the latter perk increases damage with the rounds at the end of the magazine, and those coming from Rewind Rounds will count for it. Alternatively, a much easier weapon to get is Long Shadow. Still a kinetic sniper rifle, Long Shadow can roll with Triple Tap and Rapid Hit, making it a great tool for sustained damage.

Ignition Code and Witherhoard

Destiny 2 Witherhoard

Ignition Code is an amazing grenade launcher that comes from Override missions and it can be farmed with Umbral Engrams as well. This gun can come with Blinding Grenades, Spike Grenades, and Ambitious Assassin. In the second column, there are several good perks that are up to personal preference, including Vorpal Weapon, Demolitionist, Frenzy, and One for All. Witherhoard is a must-have Exotic, and it can be acquired from the Monument to Lost Light. It's an incredible option for clearing adds and pairs well with Breach and Clear.

Chroma Rush

This auto rifle is nothing to scoff at, and it comes with arguably one of the best sets of stats in the game. It boasts great perks that include Subsistence, Feeding Frenzy, Rampage, Kill Clip, and many more. Like Ignition Code, it comes from Override and Umbral Engrams, which can be focused into the Splicer Armory engram and the Splicer Captain's Armory one.

Thorn and Ace of Spades

One fan and a 3D printer gave life to Destiny 2's Ace of Spades

Two kinetic Exotic hand cannons, with Thorn being especially strong if paired with the Necrotic Grip Exotic gloves for the Warlock, and Ace of Spades being a jack of all trades. Thorn could see even more use if the rumors of a poison-based Darkness class prove to be true once The Witch Queen expansion launches. Ace of Spades remains a strong option for both PvE and PvP, and it too should benefit from the hand cannon buffs in Season 15.

Vision of Confluence and Trustee

These two scout rifles are both amazing, and each comes from a different Raid. Vision of Confluence is a drop from Vault of Glass, and Trustee comes from Deep Stone Crypt. The former can drop with perks like Rewind Rounds, Firefly, and Disruption Break — which is arguably very good this Season because it works on Barrier Champions. Trustee is the game's only 260 rpm scout rifle, making it very fast and very deadly.

Royal Chase and Vouchsafe

Two more energy scout rifles to look for are Royal Chase and Vouchsafe. The former is obtained from Wrathborn Hunts, and a great roll is Auto-Loading Holster and Dragonfly. Vouchsafe is the better of the two, as it can roll with Rapid Hit and Explosive Payload, but it is much harder to get a good roll because it is rarer.

Gridskipper

One of the best weapons from this Season, Gridskipper is a Void pulse rifle that has perks that are great across the board. It comes with insane options for both PVE and PVP, and it is quite easy to obtain. Like other weapons from the Season of the Splicer, Gridskipper can be obtained in Override and Umbral Engrams.

Salvager's Salvo

featured image season of the chosen ritual grenade launcher weapon

One of the best grenade launchers in the game, Salvager's Salvo can be very versatile thanks to its selectable perks. The first column contains Ambitious Assassin and Demolitionist, while the second has Vorpal Weapon and Chain Reaction. This gun can be obtained by completing the Messy Business quest from Banshee-44.

Polaris Lance and Eriana's Vow

Destiny 2 Guardian Firing Eriana's Vow

These two energy Exotics are already great, and the buffs in Season 15 will make them even better. Polaris Lance is a very nice gun to have that rewards good aim, and it packs a punch with its explosive rounds. Eriana's Vow will always be good because it can stun Barrier Champions regardless of seasonal mods, making it evergreen. They are available at the Monument to Lost Light.

Corrective Measure

Saladin Weilding His Machine Gun On Felwinter's Peak

Finally, seeing how machine guns will be buffed as well in Season 15, now is the perfect time to farm for Corrective Measure. This weapon can roll with Feeding Frenzy, Subsistence, and Rewind Rounds in the first column, making it great at sustaining damage. Its second column features One for All, Firefly, and High Impact Reserves for more damage or explosions.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
