Destiny 2 may have been on a path of struggles since it launched in September 2017, but developer Bungie is currently prepping to launch its second DLC expansion of Destiny 2's Year 1. It was recently revealed that the expansion is titled Warmind and will be released in May, and on April 24th Bungie will show off the DLC in a livestream.

But even though there is still plenty of mystery surrounding Warmind, there are some things that we know about the Destiny 2 DLC.

Warmind Release Date

Warmind will launch on all platforms—PC, PS4, and Xbox One—on May 8, 2018. It comes packaged with the expansion pass or it will be sold separately for $19.99.

What Does the Warmind DLC Include?

Players who purchase Warmind can expect similar content to the other Year 1 DLC, Curse of Osiris, which include:

  • New campaign
  • New destination
  • New destination rewards
  • New raid lair
  • New Crucible maps (selection in Private Matches unique to those who purchase the DLC)
  • New Legendary and Exotic gear

On the rumor side of things, a recent alleged listing from Gamestop appears to align with many of the details above. Additionally, the rumored leak gives story details and includes the Deep Stone Crypt activity, which sounds very much like an arena or horde mode similar to Destiny 1's Prison of Elders:

Again, this could be completely fake, so take this screengrab with a huge grain of salt.

What Will Players Who Don't Buy Warmind Get?

Bungie got into some hot water with the launch of the Curse of Osiris expansion because the game began locking players out of activities that they had previously been able to play. Bungie made a quick turn to open up many of those activities to all players and that will continue with Warmind. All players who have at least purchased the base game will have access to:

  • Iron Banner
  • Faction Rally
  • Seasonal Reputation and Rewards
  • Endgame Activities
  • New Crucible Maps (available to all in matchmaking/Crucible playlists)
  • Seasonal Events
  • New features and updates

How Are Seasons Affected?

The launch of Warmind will mark the beginning of the game's Season 3, which means the Eververse inventory will be completely refreshed and factions will receive new weapons and ornaments.

What Other Features Are Included With Warmind?

Warmind will also coincide with the launch of Update 1.2.0, which will be available to all players. Included in that update is:

  • Seasonal Crucible Rankings
  • Private Matches
  • Vault Space Increase
  • Multi-Emote
  • Exotic Weapon Masterworks
  • Seasonal Vendor Progression
  • Exotic Weapon Sandbox Changes
  • Heroic Strike Modifiers
  • Nightfall Challenge Cards

In addition, PvE enemies are getting a difficulty tuning pass that should make enemies harder and make level progression matter more.
