Destiny 2 Patches Out Controversial Exploit

Warmind, Destiny 2’s latest expansion, is out now and it also marks the beginning of Season 3 in-game. Along with every season, Bungie issues sweeping patches that fix a lot of the bugs and balance issues that fans report. In the most recent Destiny 2 update, Bungie fixed the infamous Wardcliff Coil glitch, which would allow players to get extra power ammo when switching from the rocket launcher to a different power weapon.

The Wardcliff Coil glitch was popular among fans when tackling Nightfall strikes. Some fans would be able to solo the strike using this glitch to increase their power ammo supply. Now it seems that players will have to work together and form a fireteam to tackle these endgame strikes. It was also a point of contention when calculating which fireteam beat the raid first when it launched, so without the glitch, the title of "World's First" should be easy to award for the upcoming raid lair, Spire of Stars.

This change is only one of the many that rolled out alongside the launch of Warmind. Bungie also increased enemy difficulty at higher levels, forcing players to have their best gear equipped before tackling a new area. Heroic strikes also now have modifiers to make the encounters more interesting and challenging.

The update also included several quality-of-life fixes to make the game better, including an emote wheel, more vault space, and better control over the game volume levels. These small changes go a long way toward fixing some of the problems fans are upset with in the game.

Among the large changes includes the addition of crucible ranks for both quickplay and competitive playlists. Fans of Destiny 2’s PvP modes will even be able to earn a powerful new pulse rifle, Redrix’s Claymore, if they prove themselves worthy against other Guardians.

Overall, the changes that came in today’s update have done quite a bit to make Destiny 2 a more enjoyable experience. With the inclusion of Escalation Protocol and PvP ranks, players have plenty of new content to tackle with Warmind. If this is any indication as to the direction that Destiny 2 is heading with the September update, it seems to be on the right track.

Destiny 2: Warmind is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
