Destiny 2's The Witch Queen expansion came with many interesting changes to existing mechanics, such as the additional Origin Traits weapon perks and the rework of Void subclasses to match the Stasis system of Aspects and Fragments. The Void 3.0 update changed many things, among which the fact that Hunters lost their niche interaction between Combat Provision, Heart of the Pack, and Omnioculus, which is something that made the class viable in high-end content. Combat Provision was split into two different Fragments, with one half of it actually being changed and losing the grenade energy gains when making allies invisible, and Heart of the Pack was completely removed from the game.

This was seen as an overall nerf to Hunters with the Void 3.0 changes, and while that is true, the cloak-wearing class also got a rather powerful buff to Moebius Quiver, which also makes it quicker to cast. In fact, Destiny 2's previous iteration of Moebius Quiver allowed Hunters to shoot six separate arrows and move while midair, which meant that the Super would only be effective when hitting all six shots, and it also took a long time to use. The new version of Moebius Quiver, however, shoots a volley of three arrows simultaneously, and it shoots it twice, meaning that players can land the same amount of arrows more easily and very fast, increasing the Super's DPS.

Why Moebius Quiver is Now a Fantastic Tool for Destiny 2 Hunters

One of the reasons why Moebius Quiver is in an even better state than before after the Void 3.0 update resides in the fact that its synergy with the Hunter Exotic Orpheus Rig is now more powerful than ever. The Orpheus Rig Exotic legs have two different effects that apply to Deadfall and Moebius Quiver, with the former refunding Hunters' Super energy when tethering enemies and the latter adding an extra shot to the Super.

As such, Hunters can now use Orpheus Rig with Moebius Quiver to shoot a total of nine arrows instead of seven because an extra Super shot, in this case, means an extra volley of three arrows. Because the three volleys can also be fired very quickly, Hunters now have one of the best DPS options in the whole game, with the base damage of all three volleys nearing 200k per cast. This is even higher than what a Titan with Thundercrash and Cuirass of the Falling Star can achieve, considering the base damage of the Super with no buffs is around 126,000.

Bungie stated multiple times in the past few months that Destiny 2 is meant to be a game to craft builds and experiment with them, and even though Hunters did lose part of their potential with The Witch Queen, they also gained a very powerful tool in endgame content. Unless major changes come to Moebius Quiver in the span of the next week or so, this could even be a contender for the day 1 Raid race precisely because of how much damage it can dish out, as well as having decent add-clearing capabilities.

Destiny 2's Vow of the Disciple Raid is releasing on March 5, which is plenty of time for the meta to readjust and settle to something different, but Hunters also have the Renewal Grasp Exotic gloves added to their arsenal now. This new item makes Duskfield Grenades a very powerful defensive tool by reducing damage dealt to allies within their radius and also by reducing damage dealt by enemies inside the bubble. With both Stasis and Void Hunters now being more viable in high-end content, players will have more options to toy with before launching hard activities, such as Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes, making the changes to Moebius Quiver a breath of fresh air.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
