Destiny 2's The Witch Queen comes packed with new features and older systems reworked to better fit the current state of the game and Bungie's vision of its gameplay flow. The prime example of this logic is that Light subclasses are being reworked this year to fit the Stasis system of Aspects and Fragments, with Void being the first. Destiny 2's Void 3.0 update changed many things, and Hunters finding themselves in a pickle about what they should use to be more efficient in the campaign and other content, be it solo or in a fireteam, can use this guide to learn to do just that.

Void 3.0 Hunter Builds - Exotic Items

Exotic items in Destiny 2 are one of the best ways to customize one's character and build in many ways, and they usually change the way the game is played with unique abilities and perks, or they empower existing abilities and playstyles.

With Void 3.0 changing many things, some Exotics have lost part of their strength, whereas others became better than before. A great Exotic to polish for The Witch Queen is Orpheus Rig, and the reason for it is that players can have two different uses for it. The first is to pair it with the Deadfall Super, which tethers all enemies in a given area and weakens them, increasing their damage taken, which also refunds the Hunters' Super energy with this Exotic.

The second use is to fire an extra volley with Moebius Quiver, which is a buff to the existing effect prior to The Witch Queen's release. In fact, Orpheus Rig grants an extra Moebius Quiver shot, which now means that players will get to fire their Super one more time for three extra arrows. This can turn Moebius Quiver into one of the best damaging Supers in the game, and the raw DPS from the Super alone can easily be around 200k, finally providing Hunters with a valid boss build.

Another great Exotic to use is Graviton Forfeit for infinite invisibility, although invisibility was changed with Destiny 2's new patch and is now shorter in terms of duration. However, players can pair this item with a Fragment called Echo of Resistance, which reduces the Hunters' Mobility stat by 10, but it makes Void buffs last longer. This Exotic, however, is now best paired with the Vanishing Step Aspect rather than with Smoke Bombs.

Sixth Coyote remains one of the best neutral game Exotics for Destiny 2 Hunters, and it became even more valuable with The Witch Queen because of the Vanishing Step Aspect and the synergies with becoming invisible. For similar reasons, The Bombardiers Exotic legs are also a good pick for Void Hunters because they can suppress targets, providing an extra tool for applying a powerful Void debuff and fence off those pesky Hive Lightbearers and their abilities.

Void 3.0 Hunter Builds - Aspects and Fragments

Not all the Void Fragments are currently available in the game, and some will be obtained by players after Destiny 2's Raid for The Witch Queen launches and is completed for the first time worldwide. As such, among those that are currently available, players should pick up a few over others to mix and match them with their builds, and the same holds true for Aspects.

The Fragments locked behind the new Raid include a very powerful combo in the form of Echo of Harvest and Echo of Starvation, which would provide Hunters with a constant way to trigger Devour. This could potentially be very strong if paired with a new artifact mod for Season of the Risen called Devouring Depths, which increases the damage dealt with Void Supers when used while Devour is active. This is a combo for later in the Season, but one worth keeping note of.

As of now, a great combination is to use Trapper's Ambush and Stylish Executioner (for party play) or Vanishing Step and Stylish Executioner (for solo play) with specific Fragments. These include Echo of Expulsion, Echo of Reprisal, and Echo of Undermining. This can create a fun and effective gameplay loop where Destiny 2 Hunters can keep their invisibility up while also regenerating Super energy fast and keeping enemies debuffed at all times, which also means that they will explode on death.

Another interesting combination is Echo of Exchange and Echo of Provision with a melee-focused build, such as one using Khepri's Sting and mods that increase melee damage, such as Well of Ions and Overchage Wellmaker. This substitutes the Hunters' old Combat Provision perk, and even though it's not ideal in high-end content, it can help in Strikes, Gambit, and The Witch Queen campaign.

For PvP, Echo of Dilation is a great Fragment because of the enhanced radar resolution and sneak speed. This can be particularly good with Vanishing Step and Echo of Resistance to keep invisibility going. Trapper's Ambush can also be very powerful in PvP, and especially so in premade Trials of Osiris teams or in Iron Banner, where players are usually more stationary and grouped together.

Void 3.0 Hunter Builds - Best Mods

Because of the nerfs to Protective Light announced in the latest Destiny 2 TWAB and then detailed in The Witch Queen patch notes, one of the best ways for Hunters to obtain a defensive buff is to use Elemental Wells. Elemental Well builds have been quite popular since Season of the Lost, and the recent buffs to Well of Tenacity make it a very reliable mod that Hunters can easily use in conjunction with Reaping Wellmaker to get a Void Well after dodging and getting a kill.

Font of Might is a great mod to pair with these two because it empowers the damage dealt by weapons matching the player's subclass of choice, and with it being Void, this means that The Enigma glaive can benefit from it too. Because Unstoppable Glaives is a mod for Season of the Risen, it's safe to assume glaives will see some play in The Witch Queen. Furthermore, Font of Might is a seasonal artifact mod that only costs 1 Energy, thus making it a great pick from the seasonal pool and in any Void build.

Another great combo for this build would be to use one of the recent Destiny 2 Elemental Well mods in the form of Explosive Wellmaker, which would proc if players use Echo of Expulsion, volatile rounds, or even weapons like Witherhoard. Pairing this with Well of Life makes for a great way to always regenerate health, making Hunters very tough to kill.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
