There's still a ways to go before Season 13 of Destiny 2, Season of the Chosen, draws to a close. Still, players are already looking forward to what's next, so the development team at Bungie recently posted information on plans for the rest of the year. Among the previews of upcoming content is a look at Season 14 and the long-awaited return of the Vault of Glass.

The ability to explore the depths of Venus once more has been teased by Bungie for a while now, but now it is confirmed that Destiny 2 players will get their chance this summer in Season 14. The developer claims the experience will be mostly the same as players remember, but with changes to bring it up to the current Destiny 2 raid standards. Part of this is making Vault of Glass more challenging since Guardians are much stronger now. Additionally, Vault of Glass will launch with both a Contest mode for the first 24 hours and a World First race -- with a twist. According to Bungie, "Players looking to claim the belt will not only have to complete the raid, but also a curated list of challenging Triumphs."

The preview ends with a mention of a Master version of Vault of Glass. In the article, the dev team says it has been excited by the way Master and Grandmaster difficulty has altered Nightfalls and that it would like to continue offering more Master difficulty versions to content in the future. This goes for Vault of Glass as well, though it likely won't occur within Season 14. However, the dev team would like to release raids and their Master versions closer together in the future.

Now that players know Vault of Glass is coming next season, they'll want to prepare for the fight ahead. Players won't be able to rely on power evening the odds since the Season 14 power cap is only going up by 10 instead of the usual 50. That means experience, skill, and a beefed-up arsenal will be the most helpful in tackling more challenging content. Players can get a head start by obtaining all of the must-have Season of the Chosen weapons before it ends. Among the many to choose from, Sola's Scar made the cut, which is no surprise given how powerful swords are, as well as Dead Man's Tale, one of the game's newest exotics.

Season 14 is still a while away, so there's still plenty of time for players to participate in Season of the Chosen and claim the free seasonal rewards. There's also loads of content to enjoy, including two returning strikes and new story quests. Weekly challenges are also available to keep players busy and week 3 Seasonal Challenges are now ready to complete.

Destiny 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
