Destiny 2's revelry event is nearing its conclusion and Bungie is readying a patch to maintain some momentum. It's not a particularly large patch, as it only has four current fixes, but as the Revelry spring event ends and players get back into the swing of regular Season of the Drifter gameplay in its later weeks, even a small update is better than nothing. The Destiny 2 2.2.2 update is planned to go live on May 7th and will be a required download.

In the 2.2.2 patch are four fixes. First, an issue that prevented players from completing Xur's "The Tower" Invitation of the Nine quest has been solved. Next, the "Verdant Light: Competitive" Triumph is having its requirement of 200 Orbs of Light shrunk to just 20, and reactively awarding the Triumph to players. As well, the "Party Harder" triumph will unlock for any who just needed the 20 orbs to complete all of the Revelry Event triumphs.

Then, players who unintentionally received duplicate rewards from the Revelry Jubilant Engram will be provided a solution via an in-game message. Finally, players who unintentionally received an incorrect Arc emote from the Eververse will also be provided a solution via an in-game message.

There's clearly not much to this patch for most players to look forward to. While all four fixes will absolutely be well-received by players who were affected by the issues, especially those who struggled to complete the Verdant Light: Competitive Triumph, it's new content that most are looking forward to at this point.

Content may be on the way before too long, however. Bungie concluded its weekly post by saying, "We’re not talking about much this week, but we’ll have a lot more to say in the future." Destiny 2's Season of the Drifter has delivered almost all of its content and Season of Opulence is slated for June. So while Bungie isn't ready to talk about Season 7 yet, the developer should unveil something soon.

In addition to these new changes, next week's Destiny 2 update will also include tweaks to Spectral Blades and a few other balance changes:

  • Fixed an issue where Dreaming City lore was not being awarded when completing an Ascendant Challenge.
  • Fixed an issue where Chaos Reach would not deal damage to enemies affected by other status effects (such as Thorn's Soul Devour or Hunter Tethers)
  • Fixed an issue where Warlocks were unable to Blink after going through a portal.
  • Fixed an issue in which Combination Blow was unintentionally magnifying damage of Arc Staff Super attacks.
  • Fixed an Issue where the Iron Ruby shader was not dropping
    • The shader now has a chance to drop when dismantling Iron Banner gear
destiny 2 arbalest

As quiet as the upcoming week may seem, the Revelry event remains a focus. Destiny 2 players can continue their efforts to earn the Arbalest Exotic from Eva Levante before it joins the greater Exotic loot pool at the end of the event, as well as finish up any event-related Triumphs. And of course, players can always keep gearing up in the Season of the Drifter's grind.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
