Destiny 2 may have launched on PC seven weeks after the game was released on PS4 and Xbox One, but developer Bungie says that from here on out all updates, DLC, and patches on PC will launch "day and date" with consoles.

Bungie has talked about bringing PC quickly up to speed with consoles in the past, but Bungie's PC lead David Shaw clarified further, saying other than the launch of the raid and the first Trials of the Nine having their own custom dates for PC, players can expect all updates and events in Destiny 2 to arrive the same time on PC and consoles:

"Beyond that, once we get through that window of intentional staggering of content, when DLC 1 comes out, when DLC 2 comes out, all of those will be day and date with PC."

Shaw told PC Gamer this before Trials of the Nine was delayed due to an emote glitch, but the mode is scheduled to return to PS4 and Xbox One on the same day that it comes to PC for the first time, November 3.

This parity across platforms will be good news for all, especially considering that PC players will be getting the game's first expansion, Curse of Osiris, the same time as consoles even though console players have had the game for seven more weeks. Raids will now have three platform's worth of players competing for World's First and events like The Dawning will be timed the same for everyone. But the most important factor is that those expansions, the first of which is due out in early December, will not be delayed for anyone.

That shorter time before the next major release may help PC players to not feel what console players have complained of as a lack of an endgame in Destiny 2. While Bungie says it is working on solutions to help the endgame, a major DLC drop should help players get some fresh content to play.

Destiny 2 is available for PS4 and Xbox One, and releases on October 24, 2017 for PC.
