Ever since the shift to the current seasonal model for Destiny 2, the game has become much better in many regards, and the narrative improved a lot thanks to a constant output of stories, each lasting three months or more. Seasons are the perfect means to add a lot of different things to the game, from time-limited activities that drop new seasonal loot to a plethora of mods and Exotic items. The way Seasons currently work in Destiny 2 is through Season Passes, which players can purchase separately from annual expansions or purchase Deluxe Editions to have them included.

Either way, Destiny 2's Season Passes grant access to the seasonal storyline and missions, as well as a bunch of loot coming on the Passes' trackers. These rewards are unlocked by players whenever they level up their Season rank, and they vary vastly from in-game items to currency types and a few ornaments. Another little boost that comes from Season Passes is one that works on that Season's exclusive Exotic gun, meaning that it fastens the process of acquiring its corresponding catalyst.

However, these boosts expire at the end of the Season and cannot be used again, even if players did acquire them and didn't finish the catalyst at the time. As such, a Reddit user by the name of KeeganTenno shared a post on the platform advocating for the boosters to become universal and work on every weapon's catalyst when fully unlocked from any given Season Pass. This is indeed not the case, and some of Destiny 2's Exotic weapons have catalysts that take an extremely long time to complete, like Ruinous Effigy, Eriana's Vow, Symmetry, and Witherhoard.

As a new Destiny 2 player who just picked up Witherhoard and got access to its catalyst, KeeganTenno discovered that it's going to take 300 games to finish it. Having paid for the current Season Pass, the player says, should apply the same booster to those old Exotic catalyst quests because it can be especially excruciating to complete them in a reasonable amount of time, as they also require several Crucible kills with that Exotic weapon as well.

Destiny 2's Season Passes have been going through player scrutiny for a while now, starting with some fans who wanted them to include Silver. More recently, Destiny 2 players asked for Legendary ornaments to be added back into Season Passes too, further showing that some rewards need to be improved, including catalyst boosters.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
