With a little over 24 hours until the launch of Season of Dawn, Destiny 2 players have about a day to get everything they want out of Season of Undying before some things go away forever. Chief among those items with an expiration date is the Undying title, which players must both complete and collect before maintenance begins Tuesday morning (in the US).

Bungie has issued a warning to Destiny 2 players that even if they have fulfilled the requirements of the Undying Title, they must still claim it in order for it to remain active. Once Season of Dawn begins, the Undying Seal will disappear from the Pursuits tab in Destiny 2 and players will no longer be able to complete the associated Triumphs.

In fact, they won’t be able to interact with it at all, since much of the content associated with the Undying title is also going away. Vex Offensive was Season of Undying’s seasonal arena and it is closing up shop, presumably for good. As well, the Vex Invasions that were taking place on the Moon will cease, so players can roam uninterrupted once again. Even the Vex Offensive weapons will disappear from the loot pool, and we highly recommend picking up a few of them.

But it is the crucial step of claiming the Undying Title that Bungie wants to make sure no players miss out on. Doing all the hard work of killing Vex ad nauseam would be wasted if players did not hit the button.

This is the first time that Bungie has introduced a Title with an expiration date, and is likely a sign of how Year 3’s titles will work throughout. Because Bungie wants to turn Destiny 2 into an evolving world, the developers want there to be a finality to some activities by way of players’ actions. Killing the Undying Mind stopped the Vex Invasions and so there is no longer a need for Vex Offensive.

For the rest of the Destiny 2 player base, a new Seal and Title will appear and new Triumphs will be available. Presumably, these Triumphs will revolve around the new Sundial activity, which sends players on a mission through time to stop various bosses. Not all of these bosses will be available at Season of Dawn’s start on Tuesday, so players will likely need to wait until at least early February to complete the Title. That’s better than the Undying Title, which forced players to wait until Vex Offensive Final Assault launched near the end of the season.

There are also new Season of Dawn weapons to acquire, as well as two exotic quests (for Season Pass holders). These are usually tied to the title for a given Season and will likely be part of Dawn’s title.

Destiny 2: Season of Dawn starts December 10, 2019 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
