Destiny 2 is, at this point, a true monolith of a game. With multiple modes for players to partake in, many different ways to build characters for those modes, and a massive community, it's well worth forgiving the occassional infinite ammo bug when the whole thing seems to be the game that keeps on giving.

However, the fact that it's so big creates some problems for Destiny 2 and its players. One of the major inconveniences is character creation, or rather, re-creation when it comes to switching activities. Because players build their Guardians differently for each activity, they must re-construct their different builds each time they change activities. But one player suggests what could be a solution.

Twitter user ANOOBIS suggests an addition to Destiny 2's character creation UI: a game-mode filter. Essentially, this filter would swap a player's Guardian loadout to another, previously built loadout specifically tied to the activity in question. So if a player wanted to switch to their Raid loadout, they simply click a button labelled "Raid" and it's equipped instantly. With a button for every activity, players would be able to adjust and swap to their individual builds more easily. It's an exciting idea, and Bungie might be able to get more hype for it than for an upcoming character death.

Three modes are listed in the video showing off the concept: Vanguard, Crucible, and Raid. Obviously there are more modes than these for players to create builds for, though how much use they would get depends on how popular the mode is. Response to the tweet via its replies was somewhat mixed, with some player scoffing at the idea that Bungie would implement a quality of life change improvement like this. While the devs are eager to share Season of the Lost weapon details, fans are not as confident they would be eager to implement a loadout swapper.

There are different reasonings behind this. Some players are simply cynical, while others think that the amount of additional coding required is prohibitive enough to preclude this feature ever becoming reality. After all, if players are still asking for a Glimmer Cap increase, it's easy to see why something this convenient would be considered out of reach by some.

Others think it's possible and many wish that it was in the game already. Some even think it should be taken further, with a large number of loadout slots available to switch between for whatever players desire, such as multiple PVP builds. With Destiny 2 being one of Steam's most-played games and developers still trying to improve it, it's possible this will one day become real, but players might not want to hold their breath.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
